Royal Caribbean to refurbish Ovation, Harmony and Liberty of the Seas in 2026

Royal Caribbean has announced that three of its ships will undergo significant refurbishments in 2026, with Ovation of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, and Liberty of the Seas set to be updated under the company’s Royal Amplified programme.

The cruise line announced the work will add new dining, accommodation, and entertainment options, with itineraries covering Alaska, Europe, and the Caribbean.

“Royal Caribbean continues to raise the bar on delivering the best of every vacation with revolutionary ships and top-rated exclusive destinations,” said Jay Schneider, Chief Product Innovation Officer, Royal Caribbean.

“The Royal Amplified program gives our guests the best of Royal Caribbean with new-to-class culinary options and experiences, entertainment and thrilling adventures, paired with the hospitality and service Royal Caribbean is known for,” he added. “After seeing incredible success and guest satisfaction with the amplification of Allure of the Seas, we’re excited to bring three new amplifications to our fleet in 2026.”

Ovation of the Seas will see a redesigned pool deck with private casitas and a new whirlpool, along with expanded dining including Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen and Izumi Teppanyaki.

A new tiki bar, Pesky Parrot, and the Sound Cellar nightclub will be added, while the Casino Royale will be enlarged.

Accommodation updates include the addition of the Ultimate Family Suite and Panoramic Suite. The ship will return to Alaska for 7- to 13-night cruises and offer extended land tours.

Harmony of the Seas

Harmony of the Seas will feature a refreshed Caribbean-inspired pool deck with The Lime & Coconut bar and an updated Solarium.

Dining additions will include the Samba Grill Brazilian Steakhouse alongside existing venues such as Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade and El Loco Fresh.

New family accommodation and the largest Casino Royale in the fleet are also planned.

Following its European season in summer 2026, the ship will move to Port Canaveral for Caribbean itineraries, including visits to Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas and the Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, opening December 2025.

Liberty of the Seas

Liberty of the Seas will receive a completely reimagined pool deck with The Lime & Coconut and new casitas, along with a new escape room concept.

Izumi Teppanyaki, El Loco Fresh and a Starbucks venue will be added, while existing features such as The Perfect Storm waterslides will remain.

Liberty will sail from Southampton in summer 2026 on 7-night cruises to destinations such as the Norwegian fjords, Bruges and Copenhagen before moving to Galveston, Texas, for Western Caribbean itineraries.

The Royal Amplified programme, introduced in 2018, has already included the refurbishment of Allure of the Seas. Royal Caribbean currently operates 28 ships, with more vessels and exclusive destinations under development.
