MSC World Asia to debut new Pan-Asian street food dining concept

MSC Cruises has unveiled a new Pan-Asian dining venue for MSC World Asia, combining a speciality restaurant, bar and complimentary street food offering when the ship enters service later this year.

Inspired by the street food culture of Southeast Asia, the venue will combine three distinct experiences in a single location: a speciality restaurant, a dedicated bar and lounge, and a complimentary grab-and-go outlet serving street food-style snacks throughout the day.

The concept will be exclusive to MSC World Asia and forms part of the ship’s expanded food and beverage programme, which will feature 19 dining venues and 40 bars, lounges, cafés, and restaurants.

Drawing inspiration from the street markets of Indonesia, Singapore, southern China, Thailand, and Vietnam, the venue has been designed as an immersive dining experience combining regional cuisine with themed décor, music, and live cooking stations.

Menu highlights include Singapore-style prawns, shiitake mushroom fried rice, and wok-fired specialities, with the setting intended to reflect the atmosphere of Southeast Asia’s bustling food markets.

“With this new three-in-one venue, we are inviting guests to explore one of the world’s most exciting food cultures in a way that is vibrant, welcoming and full of flavour,” said Stéphane Franchini, Senior Director, Food & Beverage Product, MSC Cruises.

“From the diverse range of dishes to the atmosphere of the space and the expertise of Chefs Xiao Wang and Luca Césarini, every detail has been carefully designed to create a truly immersive culinary journey,” she added. “It reflects our ambition to offer greater choice, seamless convenience and more memorable moments through food.”

The speciality restaurant will offer a relaxed dining experience, with guests selecting an appetiser, main course, and dessert from a curated menu of Pan-Asian dishes inspired by communal dining traditions. Indoor seating will be complemented by an outdoor terrace.

The beverage menu will include bottled Asian beers such as Tsingtao, Chang, and Bintang, alongside bubble teas, smoothies, and fresh fruit juices.

Within the same venue, a dedicated lounge bar will serve cocktails inspired by Southeast Asia, including jasmine mojitos, rose and strawberry daiquiris, and matcha coladas.

Guests looking for a lighter option will also be able to visit a complimentary takeaway counter serving street food-inspired snacks throughout the day, including seafood balls, bao buns, and other rotating selections.

The culinary concept has been developed by Chef Xiao Wang, whose experience includes international hospitality and Asian dining concepts for MSC Cruises, together with Chef Luca Césarini, who has worked in restaurants across Shanghai and Thailand.

The new venue forms part of MSC World Asia’s broader dining offering, which will include six speciality restaurants, six main dining rooms, an exclusive restaurant for MSC Yacht Club guests and a range of casual and grab-and-go outlets.

Returning speciality restaurants include Butcher’s Cut, Kaito Sushi Bar, Kaito Teppanyaki, and Hola! Tacos & Cantina. MSC Cruises has also confirmed that a new Mediterranean speciality restaurant will be announced ahead of the ship’s debut.

MSC World Asia is the third vessel in MSC Cruises’ World Class series and is scheduled to enter service on December 4th, 2026.

The ship will operate seven-night Mediterranean itineraries with embarkation available in Barcelona, Marseille, Messina, Civitavecchia, Naples, and Valletta.

The vessel will feature more than 40 bars, lounges and restaurants, alongside new attractions including The Spiral @ Tree of Life, which at 81.3 metres will become the longest dry slide at sea, the Cliffhanger over-water swing ride, new entertainment venues, and an expanded family activity area.
