Allure of the Seas
Royal Caribbean International has revealed additional details on the refit and refurbishment of Allure of the Seas ahead of her summer program in the Western Mediterranean.
As part of the Royal Amplified program, Allure of the Seas will undergo a $100 million upgrade that will see a series of new features, experiences and venues added to the 14-year-old vessel.
These additions and upgrades include new water features on the pool deck, such as the Perfect Storm slides, a new Samba Grill, in-pool loungers, as well as new food and beverage concepts that are available on newer ships, such as The Lime & Coconut, El Loco Fresh, Pesky Parrot, Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, and Mason Jar.
When she debuts after her refit, Allure of the Seas will feature 35 bars and restaurants.
Allure of the Seas’ Caribbean-style pool decks will be reimagined with a wider variety of seating and shade across casitas, in-pool loungers, daybeds and more, while the adults-only Solarium will also introduce new touches, including the addition of a Samba Grill and dedicated bars.
The Perfect Storm, a trio of waterslides that were first introduced aboard newer ships in the fleet, will be added as part of the amenities line-up, along with the Cyclone and the Typhoon racing slides, and the SuperCell, a champagne bowl designed to max out twists and turns.
The ship’s Splashway Bay for toddlers and children is also undergoing an upgrade, with new slides, water cannons, fountains, pools and whirlpools, plus two drench buckets.
Allure of the Seas will see the introduction of new food and beverage concepts, including several signature venues that are available on newer ships, such as The Lime & Coconut.
The poolside bar will be added to two locations onboard the vessel, serving a menu of beverages to the sound of live music, while El Loco Fresh is coming to the outside decks of the ship, with a menu that features tacos, burritos and quesadillas.
The Pesky Parrot, a Caribbean-themed tiki bar which debuted on Utopia of the Seas this year, will serve a lineup of fruit-based cocktails made with rum, tequila and gin.
Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade is another venue being added to Allure of the Seas during her refit. Guests can catch live games on dozens of TVs, play arcade classics and order bar fare and brews.
The Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar is coming to the Allure of the Seas as well, after debuting aboard Wonder and Utopia of the Seas, serving Southern comfort food and live country music.
Allure of the Seas will get a new Royal Escape Room – Apollo 18: Lunar Landing. The attraction puts families and friends in the hot seat of the command centre in 1973 as they look for clues and solve complex puzzles to land Apollo 18 on the moon before time runs out.
The ship’s Studio B will get a new Laser Tag experience that features glow-in-the-dark elements and competitive gameplay.
Adventure Ocean will feature a new layout that allows kids to choose their own immersive experiences, such as climbable creations at Play Place; the AO Theater; hands-on art, science, and tech activities at Workshop; physical, interactive games at Arena; the Hangout; and dedicated programs to engage all the senses for babies and younger kids.
The teen spaces will undergo a comprehensive transformation to become Social298, a venue that boasts video games, music, movies and more.
The Ultimate Panoramic Suites will be introduced following the refit. Located above the ship’s navigation bridge, the suites will offer 200-degree ocean views.
Allure of the Seas will emerge from her refit in 2025 offering all of the Oasis-class traditional experiences as well, including FlowRider surf simulators, rock climbing walls, the AquaTheater and more.
Dining venues that will remain a staple of the ship include the Schooner Bar piano bar and the Bow & Stern English pub, in addition to Giovanni’s Table Italian restaurant and the American steakhouse Chops Grille.
When the refit concludes in March, 2025, Allure of the Seas will begin sailing a range of 7-night voyages out of Barcelona and Civitavecchia (Rome), visiting destinations in Spain, Italy and France.
