Allure of the Seas returns to service following US$100m refit and refurbishment

Royal Caribbean International has welcomed its Oasis-class mega-ship Allure of the Seas back into service following her US$100 million refit and refurbishment at the Navantia shipyard in Cadiz, Spain.

Allure of the Seas received a range of new amenities, upgrades, and refreshed experiences as part of the cruise line’s fleetwide Royal Amplified programme, and is now sailing a series of 4- to 7-night cruises to Spain, Italy and France out of Barcelona.

These additions and upgrades include new water features on the pool deck, such as the Perfect Storm slides, a new Samba Grill, in-pool loungers, as well as new food and beverage concepts that are available on newer ships, such as The Lime & Coconut, El Loco Fresh, Pesky Parrot, Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, and Mason Jar.

Dining venues that will remain a staple of the ship include the Schooner Bar piano bar and the Bow & Stern English pub, in addition to Giovanni’s Table Italian restaurant and the American steakhouse Chops Grille.

The ship now features 35 bars and restaurants, a wider variety of seating and shade across casitas, in-pool loungers, daybeds and more on the pool deck, and new touches in the adults-only Solarium, including the addition of a Samba Grill and dedicated bars.

The ship’s Splashway Bay for toddlers and children has also been upgraded, with new slides, water cannons, fountains, pools and whirlpools, plus two drench buckets.

This is in addition to upgraded family spaces, a new escape room, and a range of new stateroom categories, including the Ultimate Panoramic Suites, offering sweeping views over the ship’s bow.

In addition, Allure of the Seas also received traditional Oasis-class experiences, including FlowRider surf simulators, rock climbing walls, the AquaTheater and more.

Allure of the Seas will spend the remainder of her Mediterranean season sailing regular week-long cruises to La Spezia, Civitavecchia, Naples, Palma de Mallorca, Marseille and Barcelona.

In late October, the vessel will wrap up its season in Europe with a 14-night repositioning voyage to Fort Lauderdale, and will then commence a series of 6- and 8-night cruises to the Caribbean during the 2025/26 winter season out of Port Everglades.

Most of the itineraries include a visit to Royal Caribbean’s private island destination in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
