Cordelia Sky to launch inaugural India season from Mumbai in October

Cordelia Cruises will launch the inaugural Indian season of Cordelia Sky from Mumbai on 23 October 2026.

The 1999-built ship, formerly operated as Norwegian Sky, will offer a programme ranging from short cruises from Mumbai to longer itineraries connecting India with destinations in Southeast Asia.

The ship is the latest addition to the Cordelia Cruises fleet and will initially operate a series of two- to five-night cruises from Mumbai, including sailings to Goa and Lakshadweep.

Its programme will also include seven-night Southeast Asia cruises from Chennai, calling at destinations including Phuket, Langkawi, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore. A corresponding itinerary will operate from Singapore to Chennai.

The addition of Cordelia Sky expands Cordelia’s capacity in the Indian cruise market ahead of the planned arrival of a second former Norwegian Cruise Line vessel in 2027.

The ship offers 1,002 staterooms across several accommodation categories. These include 429 Interior staterooms, 313 Ocean View staterooms, 245 Mini Suites, 11 Penthouse Suites, and four Chairman’s Suites.

Mini Suites feature additional space and private balconies, while the Chairman’s Suites include separate living, dining, and bedroom areas. They also feature private balconies with hot tubs and dedicated butler and concierge services.

Dining aboard Cordelia Sky will be spread across 10 venues, with options including regional Indian cuisine, sushi, Italian dishes, vegetarian and Jain choices, and buffet dining.

Entertainment will centre on the 930-seat Marquee Theatre, which will host a main production show alongside other productions and variety acts. Live music, games, activities, and other performances will also be offered across the ship.

Outdoor facilities include areas for pickleball and cricket, while the vessel also features gaming spaces.

The pool deck includes two swimming pools and five hot tubs, with the ship offering more than 30,000 sq ft of open deck space. Other facilities include 11 bars and lounges, a fitness centre, a spa, and dedicated areas for children and teenagers.

Supervised activities will also be available for younger passengers.

Cordelia Sky was originally launched in 1999 as Norwegian Sky and spent more than two decades operating for Norwegian Cruise Line before joining Cordelia Cruises.

Its arrival will be followed by another former Norwegian vessel, Norwegian Sun, which is set to join the Indian operator as Cordelia Sun. The ship is scheduled to begin operating itineraries in India in late 2027.
