The luxury French cruise line Ponant has partnered with the Dubai-based cruise agency CruiseXplore to offer a series of voyages homeporting in the Arabian Gulf during the 2023/24 cruise season.

Ponant is a French line operating a fleet of modern and luxurious vessels that feature state-of-the-art technology, comfort and elegance, while CruiseXplore is the regional partner to more than 20 brands selling to markets across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon.

“Ponant’s combination of high sophistication, outstanding service and exceptional destinations appeal greatly to this region. The Middle Eastern guests always look for premium holiday options and Ponant serves to be the perfect fit for our guests,” said Lakshmi Durai, Chief Executive Officer of CruiseXplore.

The “Treasures of Arabian Gulf” itineraries will depart from Muscat on December 8th and on December 22nd, 2023.

The “Music of One Thousand and One Nights” itineraries will depart from Doha on November 28th to December 8th, 2023.

“Together, we will not only enhance our sales efforts, but also raise awareness locally. With our joint expertise, we are set to embark on an exciting voyage towards a brighter future in this dynamic market,” he added.

Ponant’s entry into the Middle East cruise sector comes amid significant regional growth, with Saudi Arabia having recently opened up to the cruise industry and cruise lines homeporting ever-larger ships in the regional cruise hub of Dubai.

The Middle East market has seen a strong recovery from the disruption caused by the pandemic, and with the reopening of cruises in China and Australia, Dubai and other Arabian Gulf ports are looking to cash in on a resurgence in demand.

“With Ponant, our guests will get to experience the most luxurious and private yacht style cruise vacation. Its winter season in the Arabian Gulf will enhance awareness of the brand in the region.” said Durai.
