Luxury French line Ponant to offer range of Arabian itineraries during 2023/24 season

The luxury French cruise line Ponant has partnered with the Dubai-based cruise agency CruiseXplore to offer a series of voyages homeporting in the Arabian Gulf during the 2023/24 cruise season.

Ponant is a French line operating a fleet of modern and luxurious vessels that feature state-of-the-art technology, comfort and elegance, while CruiseXplore is the regional partner to more than 20 brands selling to markets across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon.

Ponant’s new cruises for this winter includes an 8-day cruise aboard Le Bougainville, between modern metropolises, ancient merchant cities and nature shaped by the stunning desert sun.

The “Treasures of Arabian Gulf” itineraries will depart from Muscat on December 8th and on December 22nd, 2023.

The “Music of One Thousand and One Nights” itineraries will depart from Doha on November 28th to December 8th, 2023.

The New Year cruise will departure from Doha on December 29th for cruising the Arabian Coast with Smithsonian Journeys.

Ponant’s entry into the Middle East cruise sector comes amid significant regional growth, with Saudi Arabia having recently opened up to the cruise industry and cruise lines homeporting ever-larger ships in the regional cruise hub of Dubai.

The Middle East market has seen a strong recovery from the disruption caused by the pandemic, and with the reopening of cruises in China and Australia, Dubai and other Arabian Gulf ports are looking to cash in on a resurgence in demand.
