Azamara to unveil new shows and entertainment across fleet through 2027

Azamara Cruises is introducing a new programme of original stage productions across its fleet.

Developed in partnership with RWS Global, the new entertainment line-up is being introduced as the line expands its onboard entertainment offering over the next year.

The rollout began with Azamara Pursuit, which debuted the new shows during a Japan Intensive voyage visiting Kobe, Nagasaki, and Tokyo on April 10th, 2026.

Azamara is revamping onboard entertainment through 2027

The programme will be extended to the rest of the fleet in phases, with Azamara Journey scheduled to introduce the productions on May 21st, 2026, followed by Azamara Quest in November 2026 and Azamara Onward in March 2027.

Two of the productions have been created exclusively for Azamara Pursuit, while two additional shows will be deployed across the wider fleet as part of the staggered implementation.

“At Azamara Cruises, our commitment to Destination Immersion extends to every aspect of the guest experience including our evenings onboard,” said Simon Blacoe, Vice President of Hotel Operations, Azamara Cruises.

“As the first ship to introduce this new entertainment programme, Azamara Pursuit sets the stage for a new era of onboard experiences—bringing the energy, creativity, and cultural richness of the destinations we visit directly to life through high-energy performances,” he added.

The new entertainment line-up includes productions exclusive to each ship

The new productions form part of a broader update to onboard programming, aligning evening entertainment more closely with the destinations visited during each voyage. The approach reflects a shift towards curated, smaller-scale productions tailored to the line’s boutique ships, rather than large-format theatre shows typical of larger vessels.

The two productions debuting on Azamara Pursuit are positioned as stand-alone experiences for that ship, while the additional shows are designed for fleet-wide deployment.

As each vessel introduces the programme, entertainment schedules are expected to be adjusted to accommodate the new productions alongside existing live music and enrichment offerings.

The phased rollout also reflects operational considerations, including crew training and production logistics, as the line integrates the new shows across four ships operating in different regions.

With ships deployed on extended itineraries, including intensive destination-focused sailings, the timing of each introduction aligns with scheduled repositioning and drydock periods where possible.

While Azamara has not indicated further additions beyond the initial four productions, the partnership with RWS Global suggests scope for future updates as the programme matures.
