Carnival Cruise Line adds steakhouse and sushi venue to Australia-based ships

Carnival Cruise Line is expanding its onboard dining offering in Australia with the introduction of new restaurants across its locally based fleet, including the premium steakhouse Fahrenheit 555 and the casual takeaway venue Bonsai Sushi Express.

The changes will affect ships sailing from both Sydney and Brisbane, with Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter among the vessels receiving the updates. From May 4th, 2026, guests on all four Australia-homeported ships in the company’s fleet will have access to the steakhouse concept.

Fahrenheit 555, named after the temperature used to sear its steaks, will replace Luke’s Bar and Grill on both Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter. The restaurant is already established on other ships in the local fleet, including Carnival Splendor and Carnival Luminosa.

The venue offers a menu built around premium cuts of beef prepared to order, along with seafood dishes, appetisers, and a wine selection.

Carnival Cruise Line is also introducing Bonsai Sushi Express to the two ships, a takeaway venue serving sushi, sashimi, rolls, salads, poke bowls, and desserts. The concept previously launched aboard Carnival Luminosa and will now operate on sailings departing from both Sydney and Brisbane.

The dining changes follow the conclusion of a partnership between Carnival and Australian chef Luke Mangan, which had carried over from the former P&O Cruises Australia operation. The company is now transitioning to its own branded restaurant concepts across the regional fleet.

Carnival Adventure and Encounter

“We are delighted to be bringing Fahrenheit 555 to all of our Australia-based ships, so guests can experience Carnival’s signature premium experience no matter where or when they sail with us,” said Anton Loeb, Assistant Vice President Sales & Marketing, Carnival Cruise Line. “As we look ahead, we’re excited to continue introducing fresh ways for guests to enjoy exceptional offerings onboard.”

In addition to the new venues, Carnival Cruise Line confirmed that a specialty burger outlet, Carnival Topside Grill, will replace Luke’s Burgers, although further details have not yet been released.

Guests will be able to reserve the steakhouse in advance through the company’s booking system or once onboard via its mobile application.

The rollout represents a broader shift in the onboard product across Carnival Cruise Line’s Australian operations, standardising dining options with those offered elsewhere in the company’s fleet following the retirement of the P&O Cruises Australia brand.
