Disney Adventure, the largest cruise ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, has departed Bremerhaven, Germany for a transatlantic crossing to the Bahamas.
The voyage marks the first stage of a complex repositioning that will see the vessel enter service from Singapore in early 2026.
Delivered to Disney Cruise Line in December, the 208,000-gross ton Disney Adventure is expected to arrive in Freeport in the Bahamas in mid-January for further inspections and preparation.

From there, the vessel is scheduled to continue to Port Canaveral before making the long repositioning voyage to Asia ahead of her maiden operating season.
The ship’s repositioning concludes one of the most complex construction programmes in the cruise line’s history.
Originally ordered by Dream Cruises as Global Dream, the vessel was under construction at MV Werften’s shipyard in Wismar, Germany, when the Genting Hong Kong group collapsed in early 2022. Disney Cruise Line acquired the unfinished ship and Meyer Werft assumed responsibility for completing and redesigning the vessel to Disney’s specifications.
At 208,000 gross tons, Disney Adventure is the largest ship ever built for Disney Cruise Line and the largest vessel in the company’s fleet. The design draws on more than a century of storytelling across Disney, Pixar and Marvel properties, with the additional space of the original Global Dream project allowing Disney to introduce some of the most extensive entertainment and attraction offerings ever seen aboard one of its ships.
The ship’s layout is organised around seven themed zones, including Disney Imagination Garden, Toy Story Place, San Fransokyo Street, Town Square, Wayfinder Bay, Disney Discovery Reef, and Marvel Landing.
This district-style configuration reflects the wider industry shift toward large, self-contained resort-style ships, a model first popularised by Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class and later adopted by MSC Cruises and Carnival Cruise Line.
Among the ship’s most significant new features is Marvel Landing, an upper-deck adventure area housing three all-new attractions, including Ironcycle Test Run, an 820-foot-long rollercoaster that will become the longest at sea.
Additional headline attractions include extensive family water play areas, immersive gaming environments, Broadway-style theatrical productions, and the exclusive new musical Remember, developed specifically for Disney Adventure.
Dining aboard the ship is equally expansive, with the widest range of food and beverage venues yet offered on any Disney vessel, including extensive Asian cuisine options tailored for the regional market, alongside Disney’s established rotational dining system.
Accommodation has been designed around family travel, with most staterooms featuring Disney Cruise Line’s split-bathroom configuration and enhanced storage solutions. At the top end of the accommodation offering, the ship will feature a small collection of large concierge suites, including two themed Royal Suites inspired by characters from Frozen.
The deployment of Disney Adventure marks Disney Cruise Line’s first permanent presence in Asia and represents a major expansion of the brand’s geographic footprint.
Four additional ships are scheduled for delivery by 2031, including the Wish class and a new ship series under construction at Meyer Werft in Papenburg. An additional Wish-class ship is also under construction for the Japanese market in partnership with Oriental Land Co.
