Harmony of the Seas lounge and comedy club to be replaced with largest casino at sea

Royal Caribbean International has confirmed that Harmony of the Seas will feature the largest casino in the company’s fleet following a major refurbishment scheduled for 2026

The Oasis-class vessel is one of three ships undergoing transformation under the cruise line’s Royal Amplified programme, first launched in 2018.

The ship’s existing Casino Royale will be expanded into the area previously designated as the Entertainment Place neighbourhood.

The Attic comedy club and the Crown Lounge will be removed as part of the project, going the way of the Jazz Club, which was converted into a smoke-free casino space in 2023.

The Crown Lounge is set to reappear on Deck 15, taking over part of the Living Room teen club. The Attic, however, will not be replaced. The result will be a gaming space larger than any other across Royal Caribbean’s 28-ship fleet.

The Harmony of the Seas will enter drydock in Europe in April 2026 for the refit. Alongside the expanded casino, the vessel will gain new dining options, including Samba Grill, a Brazilian steakhouse, and Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade.

A Caribbean-inspired pool deck and refreshed adults-only Solarium are also part of the planned upgrades.

The Royal Amplified programme has previously modernised ships such as the Allure of the Seas and will now extend to Ovation of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas in 2026. Royal Caribbean said the initiative is designed to introduce “bolder ways to dine and drink, levelled-up nightlife, and more ways to stay.”

More than 90 staterooms will also be added to the 2016-built ship during its time in drydock. Following the refit, Harmony of the Seas will operate a short Mediterranean programme in summer 2026, offering seven-night cruises to Spain, France and Italy.

In late July, the ship will reposition to North America on a 13-night transatlantic voyage from Barcelona to Port Canaveral. The itinerary includes calls in Spain and the United States before Harmony begins a year-round deployment from Central Florida.

From Port Canaveral, the ship is scheduled to sail a mix of four- to seven-night cruises to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Destinations include Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, and the forthcoming Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, set to open in December 2025.
