Pacific Adventure emerges from dry dock refreshed for Australian market

Pacific Adventure has resumed service for P&O Cruises Australia following a routine maintenance and reclassification drydock in Singapore, with several new improvements.

The 2,600-guest vessel now offers a new sound system, a new photo viewing area, and new family cabanas in the Byron Beach Club that boast a number of enhanced features.

Available for rent, the private cabanas include a television, a fan and lights, complimentary water and snacks, a bar fridge, and service upon request for extra amenities.

The Byron Beach Club itself was also improved, with a new accessible washroom added on Deck 16 and the addition of 41 sun-safe canopy daybeds.

More than 15,000 square meters of carpet were also replaced, along with 3,700 square meters of new turf added around the main pool area, and 3,000 square meters of new paint and wall coverings.

Public restrooms across the ship underwent repairs and all her staterooms have been refreshed with new soft furnishings, new mirrors, and changes to the sofa beds.

Pacific Adventure was originally built for Princess Cruises as the Golden Princess in 2001, but was transfered to fellow Carnival Corp-owned P&O Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ship underwent a brief refit to recieve P&O colours and entered service in Australia in 2022.

Sailing from Sydney on a year-round basis, Pacific Adventure offers 3- to 15-night cruises to different destinations in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.

In addition to short cruises to Moreton Island and Southern Australia, the ship is set to offer the “Pacific Island Hopper” itinerary in April.

Visiting New Caledonia and Vanuatu, the nine-night cruise features visits to Noumea, Lifou and Mystery Island.

Pacific Adventure is also set to visit Tasmania in April as part of a four-night cruise that features a stop in Hobart.

The ship carries more than 2,600 passengers and offers 13 bars and restaurants, including four complimentary dining options plus nine different food outlets in The Pantry.

The Pantry was one of the changes made to the ship during her introduction with P&O Australia. It serves as the ship’s buffet restaurant but is set up as a food court style dining venue with several eateries in one.
