Silversea to refit and refurbish Silver Spirit with S.A.L.T. dining and suite upgrades

Silversea will introduce a series of onboard upgrades to Silver Spirit beginning in May 2026, adding new culinary venues, refreshed public areas, and redesigned accommodation as part of a fleet-wide standardisation across its Muse-Class ships.

The 2009-built vessel, which previously underwent a lengthening and renovation in 2018, will receive further modifications aimed at aligning the onboard offering with other ships in the fleet.

The most significant change will be the addition of the S.A.L.T. (Sea And Land Taste) programme, a culinary concept already deployed on other Silversea ships that focuses on regional food and drink linked to destinations visited during a voyage.

“With each ship’s revitalisation, we are thoughtfully reshaping the future of our onboard experience to introduce new concepts, expand our guest favourites, and continue elevating the way our guests experience the world,” said Bert Hernandez, President, Silversea.

“Silver Spirit’s transformation reflects our dedication to creating richer journeys for our guests – giving them more space, more comfort, and a deeper sense of immersion onboard and across every destination,” he added.

The S.A.L.T. programme will introduce three new venues. S.A.L.T. Kitchen will serve menus inspired by local cuisines connected to the ship’s itinerary, while S.A.L.T. Bar will focus on regional spirits and cocktails. S.A.L.T. Lab will host small-group cooking sessions centred on regional recipes and techniques associated with ports of call.

Public areas will also be updated. The Venetian Lounge will receive new carpeting, upholstery, drapery, and a new LED screen wall, while the pool deck is being redesigned. The Zagara Beauty Spa will receive new furnishings, and the ship’s fitness centre has been equipped with a new strength training device incorporating artificial intelligence-based guidance.

Silver Spirit to get Medallion suites

Accommodation upgrades include the introduction of Medallion Suites featuring a private veranda, bathroom with vanity, bath and walk-in shower, and a separate bedroom area with a king-size bed.

Following the refit, Silver Spirit will operate voyages in Northern Europe, including sailings linking the Channel region, the British Isles, Scandinavia, and the southern Norwegian fjords. Later itineraries will extend to Western Europe and Iberia before a longer Mediterranean programme.

Silver Spirit is one of the larger vessels in the Silversea fleet, and the upgrades form part of an ongoing programme of refurbishment across the brand’s ships. The work follows a similar transformation carried out on Silver Muse and is intended to standardise onboard facilities and concepts across the company’s newer vessels.
