Oceania return Nautica to SA in 2020/21 for roundtrip cruises from Cape Town

Oceania Cruises are offering a mini South African cruise season out of Cape Town again for the winter 2020/21 season.

Just as she will for the upcoming 2019/2020 cruise season, Nautica will homeport in Cape Town between December, 2020 and February, 2021, offering two roundtrip Cape Town cruises on the Southern African coast, followed by a grand voyage to Asia.

Nautica will cruise from Dubai to Cape Town on December 6th, 2020, arriving in the Mother City on January 4th, 2021 and spending the night in port before setting off on her first ‘Wondrous Wildlife Cape Town To Cape Town’ cruise.

Both of these 14-night roundtrip cruises from Cape Town are identical, with the first departing on January 5th, 2021 and the second departing January 19th, 2021.

The cruises include port calls in six cruise destinations in Southern Africa, as well as Cape Town itself, which (oddly) is not offered as an overnight port call. However, in both Walvis Bay in Namibia and Durban in South Africa, the ship will stay overnight in port.

After departing Cape Town, Nautica will cruise for Walvis Bay, and then retrace her route past Cape Town to Port Elizabeth, before heading up the Wild Coast to Durban. She’ll then make port in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique before back-tracking again to Richard’s Bay.

After two days at sea she’ll then visit Mossel Bay, before ending the cruise the following day in Cape Town.

After sailing this itinerary twice from Cape Town, Nautica will head for Asia, with Oceania Cruises offering a 30-night Cape Town to Singapore cruise, that can also be booked as a longer 44-night voyage from Cape Town to Hong Kong.

Nautica will then spend April cruising roundtrip from Tokyo in Japan before repositioning to Europe, with a 20-night cruise from Dubai to Rome on offer as well, departing June 6th, 2021.

Oceania Nautica is one of four of Oceania Cruises’ smaller R-class cruise liners. At just 180m and carrying only 690 passengers, she offers an intimate and extremely luxurious cruise experience.

As a cruise line, Oceania is particularly well-regarded for its on-board cuisine, while all four of its R-class cruise ships are also being fully refurbished during 2020.
