Cruise Saudi-backed Aman at Sea floats out 1st vessel Amangati ahead of 2027 debut

Aman at Sea, a luxury cruise line launched by Cruise Saudi in partnership with hospitality group Aman, has reached a major construction milestone with the float out of its first cruise ship, Amangati.

The ceremony comes ahead of the vessel’s scheduled debut in 2027 and took place at the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genoa, Italy, where the 94-guest ultra-luxury vessel has now entered the final phase of construction before interior outfitting and sea trials.

Following the float out, Amangati has been transferred to the shipyard’s outfitting quay, where work will continue on the vessel’s interiors ahead of delivery.

“Today is a defining moment in the story of Aman at Sea. To see Amangati painted, afloat and taking shape for the first time is to see years of design, craftsmanship, and vision meeting the water together,” said Jonathan Wilson, President and Chief Executive Officer, Aman at Sea.

“We are grateful to the T. Mariotti shipyard, Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, and to every hand that has brought Amangati to this milestone. Every step from here brings us closer to welcoming our first guests aboard next May,” he added.

Amangati is scheduled to enter service on May 7th, 2027, when she departs Palma de Mallorca on a six-night maiden voyage to Nice.

The inaugural Mediterranean season will feature voyages ranging from five to eight nights across the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Ionian, and Aegean seas.

Reservations are already open for both the maiden Mediterranean programme and the vessel’s inaugural Caribbean deployment, which was announced earlier this year.

Aman at Sea is a joint venture between Cruise Saudi and luxury hospitality brand Aman, extending Saudi Arabia’s investment in the global cruise sector beyond Cruise Saudi’s ownership of AROYA Cruises.

Designed for the ultra-luxury market, Amangati will accommodate a maximum of 94 guests in 47 suites, all featuring private terraces.

Suite sizes range from 731 to 3,811 square feet, reflecting the brand’s emphasis on spacious accommodation and personalised service.

The vessel’s boutique scale has also been designed to provide greater itinerary flexibility, allowing access to smaller ports and anchorages beyond the reach of larger cruise ships.

Several inaugural voyages have already been timed to coincide with major Mediterranean events, including the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix, while selected itineraries will include a transit of Venice’s Grand Canal past landmarks such as St Mark’s Square before departing the city at sunset.

Onboard facilities will include a 12,817-square-foot spa extending across two decks with eight treatment suites, a fitness studio, beauty lounge, and medical centre.

Dining venues will combine Mediterranean and Japanese cuisine, while entertainment spaces will include a jazz club, cinema, and youth lounge.

The ship will also carry two helipads and six tenders to support guest transfers and shore excursions.

The float out represents another milestone in the expansion of the ultra-luxury cruise segment, where hospitality brands are increasingly investing in purpose-built vessels that combine yacht-style itineraries with high-end hotel experiences.

For Aman at Sea, the completion of the hull marks the transition from construction to outfitting as the company prepares to welcome its first guests in less than a year.
