Cruise Saudi joint venture Aman at Sea names first cruising superyacht Amangati

Aman at Sea, a joint venture between Cruise Saudi and Aman Group, has announced the name of its first cruising super yacht as Amangati.

The vessel is currently under construction at the T. Mariotti S.p.A shipyard in Genoa, Italy, with delivery scheduled for 2027.

The name announcement follows the keel laying ceremony that took place in July 2023, marking a key construction milestone.

Amangati means “peaceful motion” in Sanskrit, referencing both the vessel’s movement through water and its design intent.

The name reflects the project’s focus on fluidity, movement, and continuity, aligning with the vision behind the yacht’s development.

Amangati

Designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, Amangati will be 183 metres (600 feet) long and will include 47 suites, each with a private balcony.

These suites are among the most spacious found on a vessel of this size. The yacht has been designed to accommodate a limited number of guests, in line with Aman’s broader brand approach of low-density hospitality spaces.

Onboard facilities will include four dining venues, a Jazz Club, a spa with a Japanese garden, and a Beach Club at the stern providing direct access to the sea.

The design and layout aim to provide a consistent experience with the brand’s land-based properties, while adapting to the marine environment.

Amangati will be powered by a hybrid propulsion system incorporating battery technology, designed to reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency.

Aman at Sea has stated that environmental considerations have been integrated into the planning and construction of the yacht, including decisions around propulsion, operations, and onboard systems.

Vlad Doronin, chairman and CEO of Aman, described the naming as an important step in the vessel’s development. He said the yacht will reflect the same principles found in Aman’s properties, including privacy, attention to detail, and service standards.

Doronin also noted the project’s ambition to introduce these principles into a maritime setting, without compromising on design or operational integrity.

“Naming Amangati marks a pivotal and inspiring milestone for Aman,” said Doronin. “The vessel will embody the very essence of our brand’s DNA, providing exceptional privacy, best in class amenities, now synonymous with Aman, and our signature unparalleled service not yet experienced on the water.”

“As construction progresses behind the scenes, our vision remains clear: to create a vessel that not only represents the highest standards of maritime engineering and design but that mirrors the tranquillity of our land-based sanctuaries,” he added.

Construction continues in Genoa, with further milestones expected in the lead-up to the 2027 launch.

Aman at Sea is a joint venture between Aman Group and Cruise Saudi, launched in 2024 to enhance Saudi Arabia’s position in the global cruise industry, alongside the launch last year of AROYA, the first mainstream cruise line for the Arab world.

Amangati’s inaugural itineraries will be revealed in the coming months, but she is expected to cruise extensively in the Middle East on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast.
