Silversea has announced its 2029 World Cruise, a 125-day itinerary centred on the Pacific, with Silver Whisper scheduled to visit more than 60 destinations across 19 countries.
Departing San Diego on January 5th, 2029, the voyage will conclude in Singapore in May, following a route that spans Polynesia, Micronesia, Melanesia, Australia, Asia, and New Zealand.
The itinerary includes 17 overnight calls and is structured around a series of regional segments designed to explore different cultural and geographic aspects of the Pacific.
“The depth and variety of experiences around which we have designed our World Cruise 2029, A Pacific Awakening, is what makes it such a special journey,” said Bert Hernandez, President, Silversea. “With 17 overnights, new ports of call, and dozens of immersive experiences across the Pacific, our guests will enjoy iconic destinations alongside smaller, rarely visited ports.”
Hernandez said the programme has been developed to combine established destinations with lesser-visited locations, offering a mix of major cities and smaller ports. “These experiences deliver true access and a deep connection to the destination that is unique to Silversea,” he said.
The itinerary is divided into eight segments, beginning with a crossing from North America to Polynesia before continuing through the South Pacific to New Zealand and Australia. Subsequent phases include Southeast Asia and East Asia, with the schedule timed to coincide with seasonal events such as Japan’s cherry blossom period.
The voyage also incorporates a series of curated events, including private and shore-based experiences aligned with the destinations visited. These include a private evening at ʻIolani Palace in Honolulu, a performance at the Theatre Royal in Tasmania, and a full-ship event on Kalanggaman Island in the Philippines. Additional events are planned in Tokyo and Thailand, culminating in a final shoreside event in Pattaya.
Alongside these experiences, the itinerary includes access to more than 15 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and a number of smaller destinations not typically featured on larger cruise itineraries. Ports in the Philippines, French Polynesia, and Southeast Asia are among those positioned as part of the programme’s focus on less-frequented locations.
Silver Whisper, which accommodates approximately 392 passengers, will operate the voyage with a near one-to-one crew-to-guest ratio. The ship’s size allows access to smaller ports and anchorages, supporting the itinerary’s emphasis on remote destinations.
The structure of the programme reflects continued demand for extended voyages that prioritise depth of destination experience over shorter itineraries. By focusing on a single ocean region, the 2029 sailing differs from traditional global world cruises, offering a more concentrated geographic scope across the Pacific.
Bookings for the voyage are expected to open as part of Silversea’s wider sales cycle, with the itinerary forming a key component of the line’s long-duration cruise offering for 2029.
