P&O Cruises’ Ventura has returned to service following a refit and refurbishment carried out at the Damen Shipyard in Rotterdam, with the ship having welcomed guests back in late February.
The 2008-built vessel resumed operations with updated accommodation, refreshed public spaces, and changes to several dining, retail, and entertainment venues across the ship.
Accommodation areas were among the primary focus points of the refurbishment. Cabins and suites across the vessel received new carpets, curtains, armchairs, and bedside lampshades, with interiors updated using warm, neutral tones.
Suite accommodation also saw the installation of new decorative ceiling lighting and updated furnishings, including redesigned desks and bedside lamps.

Bathrooms and balcony areas were refreshed as part of the work, while new carpeting was installed in corridors, lift cars, lobbies, and staircases throughout the ship.
Ventura’s central atrium was also updated with a redesigned dance floor featuring marquetry-style planks and timber finishes. Decorative details in the space reference Tyche, the Greek goddess associated with fortune, and her Roman counterpart Fortuna.
Several bars and lounges across the vessel received revised décor.
In the Red Bar, furnishings including cushions, curtains and wall coverings were updated with a colour palette based around deep red tones with accents of blue and champagne. Tamarind Club introduced updated upholstery and soft furnishings drawing on mint and tamarind-inspired colours.
Other venues were also refreshed as part of the project. Havana received new carpets and chair upholstery influenced by elements of Havana’s architecture, vintage travel posters, and palm imagery, while Metropolis was updated with new seating upholstery and coffee tables designed to reflect urban grid patterns and city skylines.
Deck bars across the ship also underwent smaller updates including refreshed flooring and bar fronts.
Dining venues were included in the refurbishment programme as well. Sindhu received new carpets influenced by Indian block printing patterns and henna-inspired tones.
Bay Tree and Saffron, which operate as the ship’s main dining restaurants, were fitted with new carpets, while Epicurean saw all seating reupholstered. Fresh carpeting was also introduced in the Waterside buffet and The Beach House restaurant.
Ventura’s two-tier Arena Theatre, which seats approximately 800 guests, was also redesigned with visual elements inspired by classical Greek theatres. The venue now features geometric patterns, curved seating layouts, and new upholstery using layered tones of red.
Additional changes were made to onboard retail areas, where new seating zones, consultation desks and service areas were introduced.
A premium watch lounge, a fashion watch boutique, and a fine jewellery store were added on deck seven, while deck six now includes a dedicated fashion jewellery shop.
The ship’s Oasis Spa and Salon also received upgrades, including new hair stations and the introduction of three Japanese head spa rituals designed to focus on scalp and hair care. The spa interiors were refreshed with geometric tiling and a design combining soft neutral colours with warmer tones.
The ship’s photo gallery was also updated with new carpeting intended to evoke the colours and textures of coastal landscapes.
Following completion of the refit, Ventura resumed service with a 35-night cruise departing Southampton to the Caribbean and the United States. The itinerary includes extended port calls, including an overnight stay in New Orleans, before the vessel returns to the United Kingdom.
Ventura is one of several ships in the P&O Cruises fleet to undergo refurbishment in recent years as the line continues to update interiors and facilities across its vessels.
