Miami
MSC Cruises has taken another step in expanding its North American operations with the opening of a new headquarters in downtown Miami.
The new North American Cruise Division headquarters occupies the seventh floor at Block 55 at Sawyer’s Walk, a mixed-use development located in the city’s urban core.
The opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local and regional officials, senior MSC Group executives, and representatives from business and community organisations.
Among those present were Daniella Levine Cava, Mayor of Miami-Dade County, and Eileen Higgins, Mayor of the City of Miami, alongside Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Group’s Cruise Division, and senior leadership from across the group.
The office spans approximately 130,000 square feet within Block 55 at Sawyer’s Walk, a 1.5 million-square-foot redevelopment project led by SG Holdings. MSC Group said the move consolidates its North American cruise operations in a single location, bringing together teams supporting both MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys.
“Our new North American Cruise Division headquarters reflects the scale of our ambitions for both MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys,” said Rubén A. Rodríguez, Chief Executive Officer of MSC Group’s North America Cruise Division. “By bringing our teams together under one roof, we are creating an environment that fosters collaboration, innovation and shared purpose as we continue expanding our footprint, deploying more ships, welcoming more guests and strengthening our presence across U.S. homeports.”
MSC Group said the project represents a direct investment of approximately $100 million and underlines its commitment to Miami as a strategic base for cruise operations. The city already serves as a major hub for the company’s itineraries, with multiple vessels sailing from PortMiami.
An economic impact analysis conducted by the Miami-Dade Beacon Council estimates that the new headquarters will support up to 1,500 additional jobs over the next three years. The same analysis projects approximately $300 million in recurring annual direct economic impact for Miami-Dade County, with effects expected to extend across hospitality, infrastructure, and logistics sectors.
The opening of the Miami headquarters follows a period of rapid growth for MSC Cruises in North America, including expanded deployment from U.S. ports and continued investment in shoreside infrastructure.
The company said the new office is intended to support that growth as MSC Group continues to scale its cruise business across the region.
