Norwegian Cruise Line has confirmed a series of upgrades to Norwegian Epic ahead of the ship’s upcoming summer season in Europe, including expanded public areas and new staterooms.
The work is currently underway as part of a three-week drydock that will conclude on May 8th, 2025, during which the 2010-built vessel will recieve several enhancements.
These include the addition of eight new cabins and upgrades to its outdoor leisure spaces, along with a newly refreshed Kids’ Aqua Park, replacing the previous Splashgolf feature.
The new area will provide expanded sun-and-water activities for both children and adults, according to the cruise line.
The ship’s Vibe Beach Club is also being enlarged. It will now include an additional hot tub and more lounge seating, while new private cabanas are being introduced as part of the transformation.
The venue will replace the existing Posh Beach Club and remain an adults-only space.
In addition to the public area enhancements, eight new staterooms are being added as part of the refit. These include a mix of balcony and ocean-view cabins.
“We are focused on delivering the best vacation experience for our guests, where they have the freedom and flexibility to do more of what they love,” said David J. Herrera, President, Norwegian Cruise Line.
“By listening to guests’ feedback, we are excited to provide them with more to enjoy on board starting this summer as Norwegian Epic sets sail for Europe,” he added.
Following the completion of the drydock, Norwegian Epic will operate a series of 10- and 11-night cruises to the Mediterranean and Greek Isles. Departing from Civitavecchia, the port for Rome, the itineraries will include calls in Mykonos, Santorini, Naples, Catania, and Florence/Pisa (Livorno).
After completing its Mediterranean season, the ship will reposition to the Caribbean, offering sailings from San Juan, Puerto Rico. These Southern Caribbean itineraries will visit several ports, including Tortola (British Virgin Islands), St. John’s (Antigua), Bridgetown (Barbados), Castries (St. Lucia), Philipsburg (St. Maarten), and St. Thomas (U.S. Virgin Islands).
Norwegian Epic offers a wide range of dining, entertainment, and wellness experiences for guests of all ages. The ship features 11 restaurants, including Cagney’s Steakhouse, La Cucina Italian restaurant, Le Bistro, and the main dining venues Taste and the Manhattan Room, along with a Garden Café buffet.
Guests can also choose from 16 bars and cafes, such as the SVEDKA Ice Bar, Maltings Whiskey Bar, Shaker’s Martini Bar, and the Great Outdoors Café. On the wellness front, the ship is equipped with six pools—including the Aqua Park kids’ pool and Epic Plunge waterslide—nine whirlpools, a gym, Mandara Spa, thermal suite, and various sports facilities.
Entertainment venues include the Epic Theater, Bliss Ultra Lounge, Headliners Comedy Club, and the Spiegel Tent, which hosts the Cirque Dreams dinner show.
