AmaWaterways unveils 1st look at AmaNubia ahead of Nile debut, with Dubai add-ons

AmaWaterways has released the first images of its newest Nile river ship, AmaNubia, ahead of the vessel’s scheduled debut in November 2026, including optional overland pre- and post-cruise visits to Dubai.

The 76-guest riverboat will join AmaLilia and the refurbished AmaDahlia, reinforcing the cruise line’s expanding presence in Egypt as operators continue to invest in one of the world’s fastest-growing river cruise destinations.

Designed to accommodate just 76 guests in 38 staterooms, including 15 suites, AmaNubia has been inspired by the colours, textures, and artistic heritage of ancient Egypt.

While sharing many of the features introduced aboard AmaLilia, the new vessel incorporates its own layout and design, combining contemporary interiors with regional influences.

Onboard facilities include locally inspired dining, wellness amenities, and enrichment programmes led by professional Egyptologists, who will accompany guests throughout each voyage with lectures and guided shore excursions.

AmaNubia will operate AmaWaterways’ Secrets of Egypt & the Nile itinerary, combining a luxury Nile cruise with hotel stays in Cairo and visits to many of the country’s best-known archaeological sites.

The programme includes excursions to the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx, the Grand Egyptian Museum, Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings, Kom Ombo, Edfu, and Aswan, together with exclusive access to Cairo’s historic Abdeen Palace.

As part of the land programme, guests sailing aboard AmaNubia will stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence.

Passengers travelling on AmaLilia are accommodated at The St. Regis Cairo, while guests aboard the refurbished AmaDahlia will stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Cairo.

Optional pre- and post-cruise extensions are also available to destinations including Abu Simbel, Alexandria, and Dubai.

The refurbishment of AmaDahlia, due to return to service in September 2026, forms part of the company’s wider investment in Egypt alongside the introduction of AmaNubia.

AmaWaterways Chief Executive Officer Catherine Powell said Egypt remains one of the company’s strongest-performing destinations, with demand continuing to grow among both guests and travel advisors.

She said AmaNubia would further enhance the company’s Nile programme through its ship design, cultural experiences, and partnerships with leading luxury hotels, providing guests with a seamless journey from their arrival in Cairo through to the completion of their cruise.
