Carnival Cruise Line expands complimentary dining with new nacho bowls

Carnival Cruise Line has introduced complimentary nacho bowls at BlueIguana Cantina aboard six ships as the cruise line continues to expand its casual dining offering.

The new afternoon snack is now available aboard Carnival Vista, Carnival Paradise, Carnival Firenze, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Dream and Carnival Panorama, with plans to roll out the menu across additional ships in the fleet.

Guests can choose from three nacho bowl options featuring spicy chilli con carne, spicy chicken tinga or refried beans.

Each bowl can be customised with a selection of toppings, including pico de gallo, cheddar and jack cheese, crema fresca, and cheese sauce.

The nacho bowls are available exclusively during the afternoon, served between 3pm and 6pm on sea days and between 4pm and 6pm while ships are in port.

According to Carnival, the new menu item will be gradually introduced across more vessels in its 29-ship fleet.

BlueIguana Cantina currently operates aboard 22 Carnival ships and has become one of the cruise line’s signature complimentary dining venues since it debuted in 2011.

Located near the main pool deck, the casual Mexican restaurant serves breakfast and lunch, offering freshly prepared tacos, burritos, arepas and huevos rancheros, together with a self-service salsa bar.

Guests can choose from fillings including chicken, pork, and fish, wrapped in tortillas prepared throughout the day.

The cantina is typically paired with the adjacent BlueIguana Tequila Bar, which serves Mexican beers, tequilas, margaritas, and frozen cocktails in an open-air setting overlooking the pool deck.

The addition of the nacho bowls extends the venue’s operating hours into the afternoon, providing guests with an additional complimentary snack option between lunch and dinner.

The move forms part of Carnival’s continued focus on expanding complimentary food choices across its fleet while enhancing casual dining venues that remain among the most popular onboard.

In recent years, cruise lines have increasingly broadened their included dining options beyond traditional meal periods, introducing grab-and-go snacks, extended opening hours and more flexible dining concepts to better accommodate changing guest preferences throughout the day.
