Dubai-based CalmGetaways expands into cruise sector amid robust regional growth

CalmGetaways, a Dubai-based travel agency, is expanding its involvement in the cruise sector through the launch of its new Cruise Booking Platform, which is intended to simplify the cruise booking experience for GCC travellers.

In a release, the company said the platform would provide an efficient and hassle-free way to plan and book a cruise vacation, with access to more than 26 cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, and the cruise lines that homeport annually in the region, such as Costa, TUI, AIDA, and Resorts World Cruises.

Cruise vacations have grown in popularity in the Middle East, with Cruise Saudi this year launching AROYA Cruises, the region’s first homegrown cruise line, but the booking process through many travel agents in the region remain cumbersome and slow.

CalmGetaways says it will eliminate these challenges through its new platform, offering an intuitive and easy-to-navigate interface where travellers can quickly explore, compare, and reserve cruises tailored to their specific needs.

The press release did not specify whether the new booking platform had been launched or not, and at the time of writing the CalmGetaways website continued to function via an old-fashioned ‘enquiry’ system that requires potential passengers to send an enquiry message with all their details before a cruise can be booked.

“We understand how overwhelming it can be to choose the right cruise among so many options,” said Parakkat Babu, Co-founder & CEO of CalmGetaways. “Our goal is to simplify this process for GCC travelers by offering a platform where they can easily find the best cruises with the flexibility and options they need, ensuring that they get the most out of their vacation.”

Embarking on a cruise from renowned European ports such as Barcelona, Rome, and various destinations in France is now more accessible. The CalmGetaways Cruise Platform offers detailed insights into the itineraries, accommodations, onboard activities, and shore excursions of each cruise line, enabling travellers to choose the best options for their journey.

CalmGetaways says the platforms user-friendly interface and intuitive filters allow passengers to easily refine their search according to their specific preferences, needs, and budget.

“Our platform is designed to make the cruise booking experience as straightforward as possible, whether you’re a seasoned cruiser or a first-time traveller,” Babu continued. “We want our customers to feel confident in their choices and have peace of mind knowing they’re getting the best value for their money.”
