Seabourn takes delivery of second expedition ship Seabourn Pursuit

Seabourn has taken delivery of its second luxury expedition ship, Seabourn Pursuit, during an official handover ceremony at the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genoa, Italy.

Seabourn Pursuit is the company’s second purpose-built, ultra-luxury expedition ship and a sister ship to Seabourn Venture.

“I am honored to share this incredible moment with the entire Seabourn family as we welcome Seabourn Pursuit, our highly anticipated second ultra-luxury expedition ship, into our fleet,” said Natalya Leahy, President, Seabourn.

Marco Ghiglione, managing director of T. Mariotti, with Natalya Leahy, President, Seabourn.

“With remarkable craftsmanship by the Mariotti team, an abundance of space, and the breathtaking style of Tihany Design, Seabourn Pursuit raises the bar for ultra-luxury expedition travel,” she added.

Leahy said that the state-of-the-art Seabourn Pursuit will provide the perfect combination of luxury and expedition.

“Seabourn Pursuit offers the best of both worlds: our well-known signature luxury and elegance with the world of exploration and adventure,” she said. “The ship is masterfully designed for our guests, who are extraordinary people looking for out of the ordinary experiences.”

“Our guests will indulge in Seabourn’s ultra- luxury style and enjoy our intuitive, personalized service, while the ship takes them to awe-inspiring destinations around the world that only few will ever visit in a lifetime,” she said.

Like Seabourn Venture, the new Seabourn Pursuit features a range of guest favorites such as Seabourn Square and The Club, as well as new public spaces such as the Bow Lounge and Expedition Lounge.

One of the ship’s lounges is designed to mimic the bridge, with large observation windows and telescopes for spotting marine life, while the ship also carries two luxury submersibles to carry passengers beneath the waves during port calls in exotic anchorages around the world.

The Bow Lounge on Deck 6 provides the closest access to the water level and is an ideal spot to relax while observing marine life. The Bow Lounge features large screens that project live footage from mounted cameras outside and a drone.

The space also features the “Pantry in The Bow Lounge,” one of eight dining experiences on the Seabourn Pursuit, where guests can enjoy food and refreshments.

The Constellation Lounge on Deck 9 is the highest indoor viewing point on the ship featuring floor-to-ceiling glass walls. The space provides a perfect setting for Seabourn’s Afternoon Tea service accompanied by live piano entertainment and cocktails.

Guests can also watch wildlife at The Club, which includes “Sushi in The Club,” a culinary experience offering hand-prepared sushi bites. The Club also offers custom-crafted cocktails and fine wines at cocktail hour, as well as live music.

Seabourn Square, dubbed the “living room” of the new ship, features a European-style space with a coffee bar offering a selection of coffees and pastries.

The Expedition Lounge on Deck 4 is where guests can relax and sip a complimentary cocktail or glass of fine wine from the bar.

Seabourn Pursuit is scheduled to enter service on August 12th, 2023, and will sail five voyages in the Mediterranean before repositioning across the Atlantic.
