UK 2021 cruises going full steam ahead following government approvals

Just days after the British government indicated that it would once more allow cruise ships to sail from ports in England, several of the world’s largest cruise lines announced roundtrip UK 2021 cruises.

It’s perhaps the fastest-growing British cruise season in history, with eight cruise lines, in a single week, announcing UK 2021 cruises with itineraries predominantly out of Southampton.

Celebrity CruisesCelebrity Silhouette

Celebrity Cruises has announced a Celebrity Silhouette UK cruise season for 2021, with the ship due to begin her roundtrip cruise itineraries from Southampton on July 3rd.

Celebrity Silhouette will sail a series of 6- and 8-night itineraries from Southampton, visiting Portland, Inverness, Kirkwall and Glasgow, as well as Belfast and Liverpool.

Cunard LineQueen Elizabeth

Cunard will homeport Queen Elizabeth in Southampton, sailing “British Isles scenic cruising and special Sun Voyages, sailing to wherever the sun shines brightest”, between July and October, 2021.

There are 10 planned voyages, with four of the itineraries making port calls in Liverpool, Greenock, Invergordon, Belfast, Newcastle as well as a maiden call for Cunard’s fleet to the Welsh port of Holyhead.

Disney Cruise LineDisney Magic

Disney Cruise Line will homeport Disney Magic in the UK, sailing from four ports, London Tilbury, Newcastle, Liverpool and Southampton.

The cruises will be 2, and 3 nights in length and will feature enchanted entertainment to make up for the lack of ports calls at which guests can go ashore.

Marella CruisesTBC

Marella Cruises confirmed in a recent Facebook post that it will be offering UK 2021 cruises this summer, but at the time of writing hadn’t announced itineraries, or the ship they’ll be homeporting in the UK.

There’s some expectation that it might be Marella Explorer, but that’s pure speculation.

MSC CruisesMSC Virtuosa

MSC Virtuosa’s UK 2021 cruises will begin on May 7th, with a series of 4-night cruises from Southampton, visiting the Isle of Portland in Dorset, part of the Jurassic Coast, where guests will be able to go ashore to enjoy the perfect day out at the beach.

From June 12th, the MSC Virtuosa will switch to longer cruises, with 7-night roundtrip voyages from Southampton, Greenock and Liverpool. These cruises will also feature Portland and Belfast as ports of call.

Princess CruisesRegal Princess & Sky Princess

Princess Cruises has announced that it will be commencing a series of UK cruises aboard Regal Princess and Sky Princess, which will go on sale from March 24th.

Regal Princess will offer 14 UK voyages running from July 31st through to September 23rd, 2021, while Sky Princess will offer eight UK cruises, running from August 30th through to September 28th, 2021. Ports of call include Liverpool, Belfast and Greenock, with itineraries ranging from three to seven nights.

Royal CaribbeanAnthem of the Seas

Anthem of the Seas will begin her UK 2021 cruises for the summer season on July 7th, sailing a combination of four-night Ocean Getaways in early July and five- to eight-night British Isles cruises, starting July 15.

The four-night cruises are cruises to nowhere, while the longer itineraries feature visits to destinations such as Liverpool, England, Kirkwall in Scotland and Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Saga CruisesSpirit of Adventure & Spirit of Discovery

Saga Cruises has announced four all-inclusive cruise itineraries from the UK aboard its new ship Spirit of Adventure and her sister ship Sprit of Discovery.

The Saga Cruises 2021 summer UK season will feature visits to Scotland, the Orkney Islands, Norwegian Fjords and cruises around the British Isles.
