Disney Cruise Line UK cruises have been given the all clear following speculation that a 2021 summer cruise season was in the works.
Disney Cruise Line will homeport Disney Magic in the UK, sailing from four ports, London Tilbury, Newcastle, Liverpool and Southampton, but guests won’t be able to go ashore at any of the ports, they’ll only board and disembark each cruise from them.

The cruises are also only open to UK residents, but unlike P&O, the cruise line will not be limiting bookings to those who have been fully vaccinated.
Disney Cruise Line said it was instead implementing multiple layers of health and safety measures based onguidance from the UK government, health authorities and medical experts.
These measures include COVID-19 testing, health screenings, face coverings, reduced guest capacity, physical distancing and enhanced cleaning.
The cruises will be 2, and 3 nights in length and will feature enchanted entertainment to make up for the lack of ports calls at which guests can go ashore.
“Our teams are bringing tremendous ingenuity and fun to these new cruises, tailoring them with care to the times we are living in, yet filling them with everything you’d expect from Disney, from great service and entertainment to immersive dining experiences and magic for the whole family,” said Thomas Mazloum, President, Disney Cruise Line.
Disney Cruise Line said in a press release that children and adults alike will delight in spaces created just for them, including family pools and waterslides, whimsical kids clubs, and adult-only retreats, such as a secluded pool and spa, a lively entertainment district and a fine-dining restaurant.

According to the press release, favorite Disney stories, characters and entertainment will come to life during the ‘Disney Magic at Sea’ cruises, “including a celebration with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their pals, a Frozen flurry of fun with Anna, Elsa and Olaf, and an epic encounter with Marvel’s greatest Super Heroes”.
Rather more ambitiously, the cruise line suggested passengers will cherish “capturing physically distanced photos with Captain Mickey”, which sounds less fun than it likely is.
The cruise line will also offer a royal promenade with Disney Princesses and encounters with Toy Story characters. West End-quality stage shows will also be held in the ship’s elegant Walt Disney Theatre.
The UK cruise itineraries for 2021 are expected to go on sale in April, pending the issuance of UK government guidelines and authorizations.
Disney had previously announced that it would be cruising from the UK for the 2022 summer season. Disney Magic will cruise from Dover to Norway, European and even the British Isles on three roundtrip 7-night cruises.
