Fred Olsen reveals inaugural 2021 itineraries aboard its new former Holland America ships

Fred Olsen Cruise Line has revealed the inaugural cruise program for its new ship Bolette, the former MS Amsterdam, which it acquired from Holland America Line earlier this year.

The new itineraries include a number of brand-new voyages and a series of UK cruises, with guests able to book from today.

Bolette’s maiden voyage will be a 7-night Scotland & Northern Ireland cruise, setting sail from Southampton on March 5th, 2021.

This will be followed by two further UK cruises before Bolette sets sail for the warmer climates of the Azores and Madeira over the Easter break.

Bolette’s inaugural program will include itineraries previously scheduled for the Boudicca, with a number of brand new sailings added, and will operate predominantly from the port of Dover.

“Our new ships have been a long time in the planning, so it is great to be able to officially unveil our itineraries for Bolette today,” said Clare Ward, Director of Product and Customer Service, Fred Olsen.

“We know that our guests can’t wait to get back cruising again, and to experience our new ships for themselves,” she added. “Now they can really start planning their first holiday back with us, whether they are looking for a UK break, to escape to warmer climates or for something a little more adventurous.”

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ second new ship Borealis will also be introduced in 2021. Her first cruise will be a six-day voyage from Liverpool on April 23rd, 2021.

The “Scottish Lochs & Isles” sailing will be followed by a five-night Irish Capitals & Scottish Scenery cruise, before the ship ventures further afield to the Mediterranean, Norway, and Iceland.

The ship will sail almost exclusively from Liverpool across the 2021 and 2022 program, and will be taking on existing itineraries for Black Watch, which was retired from the fleet in August.

“In addition to taking on Black Watch’s sailings, Borealis will also take guests on a number of new cruises, offering opportunities to witness the natural beauty of closer-to-home islands around the UK, seek out the Northern Lights, from where Borealis takes her namesake, and recharge on a short Spanish City Break in the run up to Christmas next year,” said Ward.
