QE2 Dubai launches Culinary World Cruise dinner offers

Dubai is a popular port of call and turnaround port on the itineraries of many World Cruises, but a three-month voyage at sea is expensive and time-consuming. So, QE2 Dubai has stepped in to offer a series of World Cruise themed buffets starting at just AED 125 ($34).

The Culinary World Cruise Series offers four themed nights from different places around the globe in the ship’s Lido Restaurant, the former buffet restaurant aboard the iconic ocean liner when she herself conducted more than 40 World Cruises for Cunard Line.

The themed buffets (from 7pm to 11pm) will showcase dishes from India, Asia, the Mediterranean, and of course Arabia.

The Indian buffet kicks off the week every Sunday, followed by Asia on Wednesday, Arabia on Thursday and Mediterranean on Friday.

On Indian night, the Lido will serve fresh Indian salads, breads and a smoking chat station, along with curries featuring chicken tikka trio’s, tandoori vegetables and murg masaka.

There’s also gulab jamun, saffron rice kheer and ras malai for dessert.

The Indian nights are priced at AED125 per person, AED65 for kids aged below 12 and free for those aged four and below.

On Asian nights, dishes from Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Korea, Singapore, China, Japan, Indonesia and beyond will be served, with the Lido offering everything from Singapore chili crab, beef pandang, and pad Thai to live stations serving Peking duck, dim sum and sushi.

The Asian nights are priced the same as the Indian themed buffet.

Every Thursday for AED135 is Arabic night. The Arabian nights will include Middle Eastern classics from across the region, with hot and cold mezze, freshly baked bread, grills, Ouzi, harrees, tharead and sweet Arabic desserts.

On Thursday’s, dishes from Spain, Italy and Greece to the Balkans will be served. Mediterranean night is AED155 person and guests can enjoy starters such as pickled octopus, tzatziki and cous cous, with live stations offering up paella, pasta, grilled meats and more.

The QE2 also has other offers going on, including a hilarious dining experience with the characters from Fawlty Towers this September.
