Royal Caribbean doubles up Perfect Day calls and debuts night visits on select cruises

Royal Caribbean International has announced that some cruise ships will begin calling at Perfect Day at CocoCay twice during shorter 4-night Caribbean cruises, while three new itineraries will also offer late-night departures from the private island.

Royal Caribbean said in a release that the move has been made in response to the huge success of the redeveloped island experience, with many passengers demanding more time at Perfect Day to fully enjoy the many attractions and experiences on offer.

“Perfect Day at CocoCay has revolutionised private destinations in the vacation industry, and the resounding feedback from our guests is that they want more – more time and even more ways to experience the island,” said Michael Bayley, President and CEO, Royal Caribbean International.

Royal Caribbean says new 4-night itineraries will feature two visits to the island, with nearly 40 itineraries beginning on September 30th, 2019 offering these double calls.

In addition, three exclusive cruises have also been introduced, featuring a late-night island experience on Perfect Day, complete with extended hours and new adventures.

Guests sailing aboard Navigator of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas on the select double-call cruises can double down on adventure by chilling one day and dialing up the thrills the next, or hitting repeat on a combination of all their favourites, according to Royal Caribbean.

From plunging down the tallest waterslide in North America, Daredevil’s Peak, and soaring up to 450 feet in the air in the Up, Up & Away helium balloon, to relaxing in the Caribbean’s largest freshwater pool, or on white sand beaches, Perfect Day at CocoCay has been designed to offer something for everyone.

Navigator of the Seas will also offer three itineraries with late-night departures from the island, giving passengers the chance to enjoy traditional Bahamian-inspired activities, including a Junkanoo Jam Up Party, an island barbeque and performances by a calypso band and fire dancers.

And as the ship leaves in the dead of night, a farewell fireworks display will light up the night’s sky.

While the island destination had its ‘soft launch’ earlier this year following a major redevelopment, Royal Caribbean says that the full extent of activities and experiences are being rolled out in phases.

The cruise line says it expects to have the entire island fully open by December this year.
