Crystal Cruises’ luxury cruise ship Crystal Serenity will use Cape Town as a key turnaround port on its 2019 World Cruise, offering a 26-night cruise from Cape Town to Monaco on March 13^th, 2019.

The cruise forms part of her 85-night World Cruise departing Los Angeles on January 13^th, with the Cape Town departure the fourth and final leg of the extraordinary voyage across the Pacific, around Australia and through the islands of the Indian Ocean and Atlantic.

Unlike most Cape Town to Europe cruises, Crystal Serenity will not hug the coast of West Africa, or cruise directly to the Canaries, which is what most lines do. Instead, her itinerary from Cape Town is quite port heavy.

She’ll make a maiden port call to Georgetown on the volcanic Ascension Island and Porto Novo in the Cape Verde islands, gateway to the spectacular mountainous scenery of Santo Antão.

After departing Cape Town (where she’ll stay overnight on the first day of the cruise), Crystal Serenity will cruise north to Namibia, reaching Luderitz two days later, and Walvis Bay the following day.

Crystal Serenity will then cruise out into the Atlantic, bound for Saint Helena and Ascension Island in the mid-Atlantic, before she reaches Dakar, Senegal almost a full week after leaving Luditerz and two weeks after departing Cape Town.

Crystal Serenity will also visit Porto Novo, Cape Verde and St Cruz De La Palma, in the Canary Islands, before reaching the coast of Spain, spending a day in port in Malaga and Barcelona ahead of her arrival in Monaco.

Crystal Serenity will arrive in Monaco on April 6^th, but will spend two full nights in port in Monaco, which is the gateway to the famous South of France.

For cruise passengers that like adventurous cruise itineraries, with visits to remote and exotic locals, but without long stretches of days at sea, Crystal Serenity’s Cape Town to Monaco may be perfect, because there are no stretches between ports of more than three days.

The most time she’ll spend at sea will be on the three-day run between Georgetown, Ascension Island and Dakar in Senegal.

Crystal Serenity is the ‘larger’ of the two ships in the Crystal Cruises fleet, with 4 dining venues, 11 bars and cafes, as well as a large spa, casino, show lounge, cinema and kids club.

At 68,000 gross tons and carrying 980 guests, she’s big enough to be roomy and decked out with the luxury amenities for which Crystal is famous, but still small enough to create a camaraderie and sense of community among the passengers and crew.
