Azamara expands THESANCTUM Spa across fleet with new wellness services

Azamara Cruises and OneSpaWorld are expanding the THESANCTUM spa concept across the fleet, introducing larger facilities, new treatment rooms, and an enhanced range of wellness services.

The upgrades, part of the cruise line’s ongoing Azamara Forward enhancement programme, will be introduced as each of Azamara’s four ships undergoes scheduled dry dock refurbishment, beginning with Azamara Pursuit in August 2026, followed by Azamara Quest in November.

Additional enhancements are planned for the remaining vessels during 2027.

The project builds on the nearly two-decade partnership between Azamara and OneSpaWorld and is designed to increase treatment capacity while broadening the range of wellness and beauty services available on board.

Azamara Cruises will expand the spa concept across its 4-ship fleet

At the centre of the refurbishment is the expansion of THESANCTUM, with additional onboard space allocated to the spa on each vessel.

The redesigned facilities will include two new treatment rooms: a dedicated couples’ suite, and an additional single treatment room.

The couples’ suite has been designed to allow guests travelling together to receive massage and body treatments simultaneously, while the additional treatment room is intended to increase appointment availability.

“OneSpaWorld has been a trusted partner to Azamara for almost 20 years, and together we have continually challenged ourselves to elevate the onboard wellness experience. These enhancements reflect our shared vision of combining innovation, personalisation, and world-class service to create differentiated experiences that resonate with today’s luxury travellers,” said Claudio Sammartano, Head of Onboard Revenue, Azamara Cruises.

“As guest expectations continue to evolve, so will our commitment to investing in experiences that enrich every stage of the journey,” she added.

The refurbishment will also introduce a new retail area at the entrance to each spa, offering wellness, skincare, and beauty products from brands including ELEMIS and Kérastase.

The retail selection will also feature JOU organic Chinese herbal products, which complement the ship’s acupuncture programme, alongside products from Good Feet focused on posture and foot support.

The first installations are scheduled aboard Azamara Pursuit from August 18th, 2026, with work aboard Azamara Quest beginning on November 25th

Another significant addition is the introduction of Medi-Spa services and intravenous wellness therapies.

The Medi-Spa programme will offer treatments administered by licensed physicians, including Thermage skin tightening, Restylane dermal fillers, Dysport wrinkle treatments, and microneedling.

Guests will also be able to book medically supervised IV therapies designed to support hydration, energy, and general wellbeing, including NAD+ longevity treatments and vitamin infusions.

The first installations are scheduled aboard Azamara Pursuit from August 18th, 2026, with work aboard Azamara Quest beginning on November 25th.

Renovation periods are expected to last between two and four weeks per vessel, depending on the scope of work being undertaken.

The spa enhancements form part of Azamara Forward, the cruise line’s long-term investment programme aimed at refreshing its four-ship fleet while maintaining its focus on destination-intensive itineraries and small-ship cruising.
