Cunard Line has confirmed that all four ships in its fleet will assemble in Liverpool on May 16th, 2028, marking the first time the line’s current vessels have gathered in one location.
The event will bring together Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth, Queen Victoria, and Queen Anne on the River Mersey, returning the fleet to the city where Cunard was founded in 1840.
The gathering follows a previous multi-ship event in 2015, when three vessels met on the Mersey to mark the company’s 175th anniversary.

The 2028 occasion also coincides with wider activity in Liverpool, including the 20th anniversary of the city’s designation as European Capital of Culture, with local authorities planning a broader programme of events across the year.
“Bringing our four Queens together on the Mersey for the first time will be a rare and incredibly special moment for Cunard,” said Katie McAlister, President, Cunard.
“Liverpool is where our story began, and returning with the full fleet is a powerful celebration of that bond,” she added. “It will be an unforgettable day for our guests, for the city, and for everyone who comes together to enjoy the spectacle from the shore.”
The assembly will include a number of associated sailings across the fleet, allowing passengers to be on board during the event.
Queen Mary 2 is scheduled to operate a transatlantic crossing from New York to Liverpool, marking the ship’s first direct eastbound arrival into the city. The crossing also represents Cunard’s first eastbound New York to Liverpool arrival in more than six decades, since RMS Sylvania berthed at Princes Landing Stage in November 1966.
Queen Anne, the newest ship in the fleet, will call in Liverpool as part of a Northern Europe deployment, while Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria will arrive from separate itineraries before joining the gathering on the Mersey.
The ships are expected to manoeuvre together as part of the event before continuing their respective programmes.
The event is expected to draw significant public interest, reflecting the scale of the 2015 gathering, which attracted large crowds to the waterfront. Further details on specific voyage schedules and booking arrangements for the 2028 sailings are due to be released at a later stage.
