Carnival Liberty returns to service with new experiences and upgrades following refit

Carnival Cruise Line has put Carnival Liberty back into service following her extensive refit and refurbishment that saw the introduction of a range of new experiences.

Sailing from New Orleans, Carnival Liberty joins sister ship Carnival Valor, which returned to Port NOLA last month with many enhancements after a similar dry dock.

The first guests to experience the ship’s new features embarked on Sunday for a week-long Caribbean cruise.

Among the additions to Carnival Liberty is a new Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge, a space honouring military service members and their families.

The ship also now features a WaterWorks aqua park, with new slides added, as well as a new mini golf course.

The spa, now branded as a Cloud9 Spa, received a full revitalisation that included refreshed décor, upgraded beauty stations, a modernised fitness centre, a new Elamis Boutique, as well as new steam rooms and saunas.

Guests will also enjoy upgrades in the casino, which has been enhanced with a new layout and added slot machines and table games. Younger cruisers will find an array of enhanced amenities, like new gaming stations at Camp Ocean and a revamped Arcade and Club O2.

Other additions include a Dream Studio for guests’ personalised photo sessions, as well as a Carnival Adventures venue – a one-stop shop for guests to learn about and book shore excursions.

The retail FUN Shops have been revamped with new displays, and a new High Spirits liquor store is now on board as well.

The dry dock also enhanced accessibility, with sweeping upgrades throughout the ship – from enhanced pathways to improved amenities in several public spaces and cabins.

Carnival Liberty, the fourth vessel in Carnival’s Conquest Class, was delivered in 2004 and carries 2,974 passengers at double occupancy. At 110,000 gross tons, the ship sits in the middle of the fleet in terms of size, offering four restaurants, 15 bars and cafes, and a range of passenger amenities, including a theatre, kids clubs and three pools.

The ship offers week-long sailings to popular destinations in The Bahamas and the Western Caribbean out of New Orleans. On July 23rd, the ship will make its first visit to Celebration Key, Carnival’s new exclusive destination in the Bahamas.
