Costa Cruises reveals Tokyo to Buenos Aires 2026 Costa Serena World Cruise

Costa Cruises has unveiled its 2026 World Cruise aboard Costa Serena, a 66-day itinerary spanning Asia, Oceania and South America.

The voyage marks Costa Cruises’ second World Cruise for 2026 and includes visits to 15 countries, 26 destinations and 14 islands, departing Tokyo on October 18th, 2026, and concluding in Buenos Aires on December 22nd, 2026.

Unlike Costa Cruises’ 2027 World Cruise aboard Costa Deliziosa, this itinerary will skip both Africa and the Middle East.

The cruise will begin in East Asia, with opportunities to explore Tokyo’s neighbourhoods, visit Tokyo Tower, and explore traditional markets. In Keelung, passengers can visit Taipei, while Hong Kong offers a mix of cityscapes and temples.

The World Cruise continues south to the Philippines, with visits to natural sites including jungles and coral reefs, followed by an overnight call in Bali. In Australia, Sydney offers excursions including the Grand Pacific Drive and Taronga Zoo, while Brisbane and Cairns include options such as Hartley’s Crocodile Farm.

After crossing the Pacific, Costa Serena will visit several island destinations including Nouméa, Lifou, Suva, Tonga, Rarotonga and Tahiti, as well as the Pitcairn Islands.

In South America, the itinerary includes ports in Chile and Argentina, including an overnight in Ushuaia and calls in Valparaíso, Viña del Mar and Puerto Madryn. Optional excursions feature visits to Santiago and sites linked to Pablo Neruda, along with opportunities for wildlife observation.

The 2026 World Cruise aboard Costa Serena is also available in three separate segments:

Tokyo to Sydney (26 days)

Sydney to San Antonio (Santiago) (27 days)

San Antonio to Buenos Aires (15 days)

Each segment includes optional tours at select ports.

Costa Serena is scheduled to undergo a dry dock refit in November 2025, after which it will return to service with updated interiors and new facilities aligned with recent fleet enhancements.

Planned upgrades include renovated suites, redesigned bars and restaurants, a new Sunset Lounge, and the SOLEMIO Spa.

Costa Cruises has offered world cruise itineraries since the 1970s. In 2026, it will offer two world cruises: one aboard Costa Serena and another aboard Costa Deliziosa. The Costa Deliziosa cruise will depart from Trieste on November 21st, 2025, visiting destinations including Casablanca, the Canary Islands, the Caribbean, South America, Easter Island, Fiji, Australia, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, the Maldives, Mauritius, South Africa and Cape Verde.

The 2027 edition of the World Cruise aboard Costa Deliziosa will include new destinations such as Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas, major cities on both coasts of the United States, Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji, Australia, Japan, Southeast Asia, and Africa.
