Royal Caribbean International has revealed new information about its upcoming destination developments, headlined by Perfect Day Mexico, due to open in autumn 2027.
Located on Mexico’s Caribbean coast near Mahahual, the new 200-acre site will include a mix of water-based attractions, beach areas, and dining spaces. It will join the cruise line’s growing portfolio of private destinations, which includes Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas and a series of Royal Beach Clubs now under development.
“We have spent the last 50 years shattering perceptions around cruising to transform into a global vacation brand for all generations,” said said Michael Bayley, President and CEO, Royal Caribbean. “Now, we’re bringing our demonstrated history of unparalleled service and revolutionary innovation – everything our vacationers know and love – into our collection of destinations that offer more locally inspired perfect days and beachfront getaways.”

“Perfect Day Mexico is bigger and bolder than anything we have done to date. This destination will be the ultimate vacation for families, and we cannot wait to welcome adventurers from around the world to Mexico for an experience only Royal Caribbean can provide,” he added.
Perfect Day Mexico highlights
Perfect Day Mexico will include seven themed zones. The largest is Loco Waterpark, with more than 30 slides across five towers.
Notable features include Jaguar’s Peak, a slide tower reaching over 170 feet and housing what Royal Caribbean says will be the tallest family raft slide in North and South America, as well as the longest water coaster-style slide in the world.
Other features include hydrolaunch slides and what is billed as the first sombrero-shaped slide.

Splash Cove will include a lazy river that Royal Caribbean says will be the longest in the world, designed with a ‘crazy’ route featuring rapids and waves. A 100,000 square foot pool, Splashaway Bay water play area for children, and family cabanas will also be located in this area.
El Hideaway, an adults-only zone, will feature a zero-entry pool, swim-up bar, DJ-led entertainment, and group cabanas for up to 20 guests. Costa Beach Club offers a more secluded experience, with access to an infinity pool, premium dining options, and private cabanas with dedicated attendants.
Other areas include Chill Beach North and South, covering nearly two miles of coastline and providing open access to loungers, umbrellas, and towels, and Fiesta Plaza, the arrival area designed with Mexican cultural elements, live music, and the Tipsy Sombrero bar topped by a large sombrero structure.

Twelve dining venues will be available across the site, nearly all of which will be included in the cruise fare. Options will include sit-down and grab-and-go concepts with menus inspired by regional Mexican cuisine. There will also be 24 bars, including six swim-up venues. Local culture will be highlighted through mariachi performances, art installations, and local vendors.
Deployment and development
Perfect Day Mexico will be included on Western Caribbean itineraries from Galveston, New Orleans, and Florida ports starting in late 2027. These itineraries will be open for booking later in 2024.
“We’re committed to pushing the boundaries of what a modern-day vacation can be – delivering innovative experiences that create unforgettable memories for our guests and value for the communities we visit,” said Jason Liberty, President and CEO, Royal Caribbean Group. “As we continue to innovate and expand our offerings at sea and on land, our ambition is to offer our guests a diverse range of experiences that grow with them, turning the vacation of a lifetime into a lifetime of vacations.”
Royal Caribbean is working with local authorities to develop Perfect Day Mexico as a sustainable project aligned with its SEA the Future strategy, which includes environmental and community-focused commitments. The port will remain operational during construction, and a new welcome centre is being built to serve cruise passengers across all lines calling in Mahahual.

Royal Beach Club developments
Royal Caribbean also provided updates on its Royal Beach Club developments:
- Royal Beach Club Paradise Island – Opening in December 2025, this project on Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas, will offer beach access, dining, swim-up bars and live entertainment. It will be available to passengers who purchase an all-inclusive day pass.
- Royal Beach Club Cozumel – Expected to open in 2026, this club will feature pools, cabanas, snorkelling, and activities including tequila tastings and cooking classes. A street market and local entertainment will showcase Mexican culture.
These clubs join Royal Caribbean’s existing beach destinations at Labadee, Haiti, and the upcoming Perfect Day at Lelepa in Vanuatu, which will open in early 2027 as the brand’s first exclusive destination in the Southern Hemisphere. The Lelepa site will feature beaches, trails, water-based activities and food outlets, all influenced by local culture.
By 2027, Royal Caribbean estimates that 90% of its Caribbean cruise passengers will call at either Perfect Day at CocoCay or Perfect Day Mexico. Some itineraries from Gulf Coast ports will include both Perfect Day Mexico and Royal Beach Club Cozumel.
