Windstar Cruises has released renderings of Star Seeker’s main dining and lounge venues ahead of the yacht’s December 2025 debut. The 224-passenger vessel is the line’s first purpose-built new ship and will be christened in Miami on January 15, 2026.
In a press release, the cruise line said Star Seeker is a new twist on its much loved Star Class yachts, with public spaces designed to serve daytime and evening roles to bring people together in the casual, welcoming atmosphere for which the cruise line is known.
“Designing our first new build has been an exciting project for us,” said Stijn Creupelandt, chief operating officer, Windstar Cruises. “Every detail of the yacht’s layout has been carefully considered to maximize versatility and enhance our signature Windstar small ship experience.”
Dining and lounge venues
Amphora Restaurant: Windstar’s main dining venue will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including select dishes from James Beard Foundation-affiliated chefs. A buffet and live cooking stations will be available during the day, with à la carte dining in the evening.
Basil + Bamboo: A new specialty venue offering Mediterranean and Asian-inspired dishes. Open for dinner with reservations recommended. There is no additional charge.
Yacht Club: A daytime café serving coffee and light meals, transitioning to an evening lounge with cocktails and live music.
Main Lounge: Used for enrichment talks and activities during the day, and live music and crew performances in the evening.
Star Grill, an outdoor venue, will serve grilled meats, seafood, and vegetables for lunch and dinner. Room service is available 24/7, including Amphora’s dinner menu.
Public spaces on Star Seeker have been designed for dual use, adapting from daytime to evening. Interiors include floor-to-ceiling windows, neutral tones, and multi-use layouts across venues.
Following its launch, Star Seeker will operate in the Caribbean and Alaska before moving to Japan and Southeast Asia. The ship will focus on ports in Thailand and Vietnam during its Asia deployment.
Star Seeker represents a major step forward for Windstar Cruises, marking the first time the brand has commissioned a newbuild rather than converting or acquiring an existing vessel. The ship introduces updated design and layout concepts developed specifically for the Windstar experience, while maintaining the line’s focus on small-ship cruising and destination-led itineraries.
Star Seeker will be joined by her sister ship Star Explorer in December 2026.
