Bollette of Fred Olsen sets sail on first World Cruise, with three day stop in Cape Town

Bolette of Fred Olsen Cruise Line departed January 4th, 2025 from Liverpool on its first ever World Cruise for the cruise line, with a three day port call in Cape Town included in the itinerary, as well as a 21 night grand voyage from the city.

Sailing roundtrip from Liverpool, Bollette’s 110-night World Cruise circumnavigates the globe, visiting 34 destinations in 22 countries, but a particular highlight will be here three-day port call in Cape Town, recently named the Best City in the World by TimeOut.

Bolette will also sail two itineraries from Cape Town on April 1st, 2025. The first is a 21-night grand voyage to Southampton up the West African coast, while the second is the same cruise but ending two days later in Liverpool.

Guests booked on the full World Cruise will get to explore a plethora of iconic, exotic, and remote destinations. Bolette is now heading to South America for the first segment of the itinerary.

Starting in late January, the ship visits ports of call in Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and Chile, such as Ilhabela, Buenos Aires and Valparaiso, before sailing around the Cape Horn and the Chilean fjords bound for the South Pacific for destinations in Polynesia, Australia and New Zealand.

This segment of the cruise is highlighted by an overnight visit to Sydney, in addition to a stop in Nukualofa, Tonga, as well as ports of call in the Indian Ocean and Africa, including Mauritius, Reunion and South Africa before her three-day visit to Cape Town.

Sailing from Cape Town, the cruise then features stops in Namibia, St. Helena, Senegal, the Canary Islands and Madeira on the way back to Southampton and Liverpool.

Acquired by Fred. Olsen in 2020, Bolette was originally built for Holland America Line as the Amsterdam and is a sister ship to the 1997-built Rotterdam. The 1,380-guest ship was constructed at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy and entered service in 2000.

The ship features six dining venues and eight bars and cafes, as well as two swimming pools, two jacuzzis, a fitness center, the Atlantis Spa, a wraparound promenade, and multiple entertainment spaces, including the Neptune Show Lounge, the Observatory Lounge, and the Auditorium.
