MSC Cruises has provided an update on the construction progress of its newest ship, MSC World America, which remains on track to launch in less than five months.
MSC World America represents an important evolution for MSC Cruises’ successful World Class prototype, with re-imagined venues and concepts for North American guests sailing to the Caribbean.
She will offer MSC Cruises’ signature elegant European design, tweaked to cater to North American tastes and preferences.
The new flagship will be the first to feature seven on board districts, each having its own atmosphere, facilities and experiences, designed to enhance the onboard experience, allowing every guest to create a one-of-a-kind holiday.

MSC World America will be named in a ceremony in Miami on April 9th, 2025, and with less than five months to go, MSC Cruises has released new photos showing her construction progress.
“We’ve invested a lot into tailoring MSC World America to deliver a truly memorable cruise experience, with new restaurants, bars, experiences, and spaces,” said Bernhard Stacher, SVP Shipboard Hospitality Operations. “With the only Eataly restaurant at sea, a brand-new Greek restaurant Paxos, and MSC Cruises’ first comedy club The Loft, there’s really a space and experience for every guest.”
The Harbour is one of the most significant ways in which MSC World America will differ from her sister ship, MSC World Europa, which was designed with the European market in mind.

“One of the biggest innovations for MSC World America is The Harbour, part of the Family Aventura district, a brand-new revolutionary outdoor venue specially designed for kids and families to gather, play and relax together,” said William Monts de Oca Rivera, Head of Guest Experience Innovation.
“It’s home to Cliffhanger – a state-of-the-art swing attraction 50m above the ocean that is going to bring a totally new dimension to the cruise experience,” he added.
MSC World America is under construction at Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. She is currently in her outfitting stage during which all of the interiors, public spaces and facilities will be installed.
The World class marks MSC Cruises’ emergence as one of the world’s leading cruise lines, on-par with Royal Caribbean and Carnival in terms of size. At 200,000 gross tons the ships are the third-largest cruise ship class after Royal Caribbean’s Icon and Oasis.
The ships are MSC Cruises’ largest to date, with 13 dining venues, 6 specialty restaurants, the world’s longest slide at sea, an interior promenade, 6 pools, 14 whirlpools, an entire deck for children and families and an adults zone as well.
