Celestyal Discovery to get more cabins in major refit ahead of 2025 Middle East season

Celestyal Cruises has announced it will add 47 new cabins to Celestyal Discovery during her major refit and refurbishment in April, 2025, ahead of her winter deployment to the Arabian Gulf

The new cabins will bring the ship’s overall capacity to 1,300 guests, a 7.4 percent increase, with much of the space being donated by the spa, which the cruise line said takes up a disproportionate amount of space on the ship.

The new staterooms will include two Grand Horizon Suites above the bridge, with large balconies and a decor that will change with the seasonal homeports.

There will also be 30 new Junior Dream Suites, and 15 additional interior Cosmos Cabins.

Mirroring the offering aboard Celestyal Journey, Celestyal Discovery’s Smoked Olive restaurant will now be available as a dedicated dining space for all suite guests.

The refit will also include an extra pop up evening restaurant with a bookable private dining area, offering high-end specialty regional cuisine inspired by the destinations on the ship’s itinerary.

“Following Celestyal Discovery’s extensive refurbishment at the start of 2024, this latest refit reinforces our commitment to constantly evolving our guest experience and offering our guests out-of-this-world value,” said Anna Gregori, Vice President, Brand, Marketing, Communications and Customer Experience at Celestyal.

Grand Suite

“The addition of new premium staterooms, including our stunning Grand Horizon Suites, and a wealth of enhanced balcony and suite benefits, provide our guests with even more home comforts and choice as they explore the incredible destinations we visit,” she added.

The refit and renovation work aboard Celestyal Discovery will be completed ahead of her 2025/26 winter deployment to the Arabian Gulf, sailing roundtrip from Abu Dhabi in the UAE to Doha, Sir Bani Yas, Fujairah, Muscat, and Khasab.

Celestyal Discovery will offer 3-, 4-, and 7-night roundtrip cruises from Abu Dhabi. The 3-night itineraries will call in Doha and Sir Bani Yas Island, while the 4-night itineraries will call in Fujairah, Muscat, and Khasab. The full week itinerary combines the two.

Celestyal Discovery will homeport in Abu Dhabi between December 2025 and March 2026, joining her fleetmate Celestyal Journey which will also be homeporting in the region, but cruising roundtrip out of Dubai and Doha.

Unlike Celestyal Discovery, Celestyal Journey will only offer full week-long itineraries, visiting Abu Dhabi, Sir Bani Yas, Doha, and Bahrain.
