Upcoming Norwegian Luna to feature Aqua Slidecoaster, free-fall slide The Drop and more

Norwegian Cruise Line has revealed a range of activities and attractions aboard its new cruise ship Norwegian Luna, due for delivery in 2026.

The vessel, a sister ship to Norwegian Aqua as the second in the Prima Plus class, will mirror her design and structure and will boast many of the same amenities, along with a range of her own unique features and experiences.

A highlight aboard Norwegian Luna, like Norwegian Aqua, will be the Aqua Slidecoaster, a first-of-its-kind hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide that will be one of the longest and fastest slides at sea.

The three-story slide will feature dual slides that wrap around the funnel, with a magnetic lift that propels guests through two different courses. It’s a first for the industry, but is also reminiscent of the AquaMouse ride that debuted aboard Disney Wish in 2022

Another feature for thrill-seekers aboard Norwegian Luna will be The Drop, a ten-story free-fall slide that first debuted on the Norwegian Prima and was an instant hit with passengers, leading to its roll out across the Prima class.

Norwegian Luna will feature a digital sports complex named the Glow Court, offering a variety of interactive guest activities during the day before transforming into a nightclub in the evening, and in the Haven enclave a new Three-Bedroom Duplex Haven Suite cabin category will be introduced.

First announced aboard Norwegian Aqua, the two-story suites will feature separate living and dining areas, as well as three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a furnished balcony.

Other returning features include Ocean Boulevard, a 46,000-square-foot outdoor promenade that wraps around the entire ship, offering seaside dining and entertainment, such as Infinity Beach, a closer-to-the-ocean sundeck. The ship will also have its own Vibe Beach Club, an adults-only, open-air lounge.

These thrill and chill areas aboard the new ship are in addition to her plethora of dining venues, cafes and bars, which Norwegian Cruise Line earlier this month confirmed would be varied and feature a range of new concepts and brand-favourites.

Currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, Norwegian Luna is scheduled to enter service on April 4th, 2026, sailing from Miami on 7-night roundtrip Western and Eastern Caribbean itineraries.
