Norwegian Cruise Line are returning to South Africa for the 2024/25 cruise season with Norwegian Dawn sailing a selection of roundtrip cruises from Cape Town.
Like her 2023/24 season, Norwegian Dawn will cruise from Cape Town to Port Luis in Mauritius and then from Cape Town again to Lisbon.
This will be a shorter season than her previous two, with just these two Cape Town departures on offer. However, during the next 2025/26 season, she’ll be offering a more extensive selection.
The 12-night Cape Town to Mauritius cruise departing January 17th, 2025 visits seven ports, including three in South Africa, including an overnight in Richard’s Bay.
In Mossel Bay and Port Elizabeth the ship will arrive in the early morning and depart in the evening, providing plenty of time for guests to explore ashore.
The adventure continues in Maputo, Mozambique, where guests can immerse themselves in the city’s rich history and unique architecture during a half-day visit before setting sail for Fort Dauphin, Madagascar, with several days at sea.
This rare destination offers an exotic blend of rainforests and beaches, with a full day to explore its natural wonders.
Norwegian Dawn then sails for Saint-Denis, Reunion, a French overseas territory known for its volcanic landscapes and rainforested interior. Guests will have a full day to experience its unique blend of French and Creole cultures.
The final destination is Port Louis, Mauritius, where the ship arrives on January 28th. This paradise island, renowned for its sapphire waters and lush landscapes, serves as the perfect culmination to this extraordinary voyage.
Norwegian Dawn then sails the same itinerary in reverse back to Cape Town, from which Norwegian Dawn departs March 12th, 2025 bound for Lisbon in Portugal.
This 18-night repositioning cruise sails up the West African coast, visiting Walvis Bay in Namibia, Luanda in Angola, Principe on Sao Tome and Principe, as well as the Ivory Coast, Gambia, the Cape Verde Islands, Canary Islands and Senegal.
Norwegian Dawn is a mid-sized cruise ship first launched in 2002. She has a capacity for 2,340 passengers and features 11 dining options, including specialty restaurants and cafes, as well as 12 bars and lounges. There is a casino, spa, fitness center, two swimming pools, six hot tubs, a kids’ club, and a teen club, along with a full-size theater for live performances and a variety of shops.
