The ships have had their Jazz Club converted into a non-smoking casino
Royal Caribbean International is now offering smoke-free casinos on all of its five Oasis-Class cruise ships, following the latest retrofit to Symphony of the Seas.
The cruise line announced on social media that Symphony of the Seas recently became the latest ship to offer a Casino Royale Non-Smoking.
The 2018-built cruise ship had her Jazz Club adjacent the main casino converted, making her the last ship in the class of five vessels to have the work done.
Class leader Oasis of the Seas, and sister ships Allure of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, and Wonder of the Seas, have already seen their casinos expanded with non-smoking areas.
The new non-smoking casino on Deck 4 of all five vessels represents a 2,500 square foot addition to thecasino area, with 46 new slot machines, three extra gambling tables and a dedicated kiosk and cashier window.
Guests will also be able to order drinks in the area with dedicated beverage service, Royal Caribbean said.
Utopia of the Seas, the final ship in the planned six-vessel Oasis class, is also scheduled to offer the smoking-free casino area when it enters service in mid-2024. Unlike her sister ships, the non-smoking casino won’t need to be retrofitted as it was incorporated into her design.
Wonder of the Seas also debuted with the smokeless gambling space in 2022. Oasis of the Seas, the Allure of the Seas and the Harmony of the Seas received the new space earlier this year.
The conversion of the Jazz Club into smoke-free casinos took approximately two weeks onboard each ship and was completed with the vessels in regular guest service.
The Oasis class is currently the largest class of cruise ship in the world, with each vessel in the class having been slightly largest than the last, making Wonder of the Seas the largest cruise ship in the world on a per-tonnage basis at the time of writing.
The first vessel in the series was the 2009-built Oasis of the Seas, which was followed by Allure of the Seas in 2010, Harmony of the Seas in 2016, Symphony of the Seas in 2018, and Wonder of the Seas in 2022.
These vessels are set to be surpassed by the new Icon Class in 2024, which will be led by Icon of the Seas at a gargantuan 250,000 gross tons.
