Royal Caribbean reveals entertainment aboard upcoming Icon of the Seas

Royal Caribbean International has revealed the entertainment options onboard the upcoming Icon of the Seas with full-scale shows across the cruise line’s four “stages” and more live music and comedy than ever before.

Icon of the Seas is set to launch in January 2024 and is Royal Caribbean’s largest cruise ship to date, and the largest cruise ship in the world at 250,000 gross tons, and a passenger capacity of more than 6,000.

Entertainment choices will run through the day and night with a wide range of productions and performances, featuring over 75 performers in the spotlight at venues including the AquaDome, AquaTheater, Royal Theater, and the Absolute Zero ice arena.

Some 50 live musicians and comedians will entertain guests in venues across the ship, including the new Lou’s Jazz ‘n Blues and Dueling Pianos, as well as Schooner Bar and the Point & Feather English pub.

“At the heart of so many of the memories made on Royal Caribbean vacations is a combination of live entertainment that’s unmatched in the vacation industry, and we’re taking it to the next level on Icon of the Seas,” said Nick Weir, Senior Vice President, Entertainment, Royal Caribbean International. 

“If you’re a fan of full-scale productions on Broadway and the West End or live music and comedy in hot spots like Las Vegas, Icon has it all for every mood and style in one vacation – alongside never-before-seen twists only found on Royal Caribbean,” he added.

Entertainment highlights aboard Icon of the Seas:

Aqua Action!”, featuring Olympic-level high divers, skateboarders, aerialists, slackliners and synchronized swimmers;

“Pirates vs. Mermaids” show at the Aqua Dome;

Royal Caribbean’s first rendition of “The Wizard of Oz” in the Royal Theater;

“SHOWBAND! Live. Music. Now.” event featuring 16 musicians;

“Starburst: Elemental Beauty” ice cast performance at the Absolute Zero;

“Once Upon a Time: The King’s Royal Ball” show tailored for young guests and their families.

These entertainment options will be offered alongside the largest food and beverage line-up of any Royal Caribbean ship to date, with 20 new dining experiences.

The selection of dining options released by Royal Caribbean includes a combination of elevated experiences, spots for quick bites and venues made for families with kids, from restaurants to walk-up windows, casual to upscale, live music to chefs who put on a show.

The new dining experiences include venues like the upscale Empire Supper Club,a swanky and lavish eight-course experience; AquaDome Market – Royal Caribbean’s first food hall – and Izumi in the Park, an all-day window with fresh sushi and more.

There will be more than 40 bars, restaurants and lounges aboard the ship, with 15 of the bars and lounges having already been revealed. 

They’ll include a range of brand firsts such as Lou’s Jazz ‘n Blues in Central Park and Dueling Pianos in Royal Promenade offering a range of live music styles, and spots to grab a drink and mingle before a show like the Rye & Bean coffee bar in AquaDome and the Bubbles champagne bar in Central Park.
