MSC Cruises launches Easter deals for SA season out of Cape Town and Durban

MSC Cruises SA, the South African subsidiary of MSC Cruises, has launched an Easter deal for the local market on its cruises out of Cape Town and Durban for the coming 2023/24 cruise season.

Passengers booking a range of select cruises before May 8th this year will receive a free cabin upgrade, according to the cruise line, with all the usual complimentary add-ons, such as food and entertainment.

The deal is applicable on MSC Splendida’s upcoming cruise season in South Africa between November, 2023 and March, 2023, during which the ship will cruise to Walvis Bay from Cape Town, and Pomene and Portuguese Island from Durban.

A total of eight cruise itineraries from Cape Town and Durban are included in the offer, with prices starting at R4,937 per person sharing an Outside cabin. It should be noted that the Outside category is the starting base for the deal, no Interior cabin categories apply.

MSC Splendida is not only the largest cruise ship ever to homeport in South Africa, but is also the most jam-packed with amenities and onboard attractions.

At 137,000 gross tons and carrying upwards of 3,900 passengers, MSC Splendida is a vast hotel resort, mall and adventure park in one.

Up top there are four pool areas and a water park complete with a range of slides, while down below there are dozens of lounges, bars, and restaurants, as well as a sprawling casino and even a bowling alley in a sports bar that serves free burgers.

There are also separate facilities for babies, toddlers, children and teens, and in the ship’s video games arcade passengers will find a Formula 1 race car simulator.

“MSC Splendida will take cruising in South Africa to the next level and her deployment further demonstrates our commitment to help drive both the country’s tourism industry and the cruising sector with a resultant positive economic impact to the nation,” Ross Volk, Managing Director, MSC Cruises South Africa said at the time the deployment was announced.

“The ship will be staffed by nearly 1,400 crew, many of whom will be sourced and trained locally through our own Shosholoza Ocean Academy in Durban,” he added.
