“These thrilling new Altitude experiences will have fun and excitement at their heart,” said P&O Cruises President Paul Ludlow. “Holidays are about trying new things, being with friends and family and of course capturing the perfect holiday photos.”

Altitude Minigolf will include water hazards, tiki huts, “hippos” and night-time illuminations. The nine-hole course will be open throughout the day and evening.

Altitude Splash Valley will be a family aqua zone with water jets, shaded areas and ocean views, while Sports Arena will be an outdoor sports court for football, basketball, short tennis or cricket.

“Whether it’s the perfect putt, getting soaked by the jets or putting on a brave face with the Skywalk, there will be action and adventure images for everyone as we push new boundaries with Arvia’s top deck,” Ludlow added.

Arvia has been designed as P&O’s “sunshine ship” and will be deployed in the Caribbean from January, 2023, homeporting in Bridgetown, Barbados.

She’ll sail 14-night cruises visiting Barbados, Curacao, La Romana, St Kitts, Antigua, St Maarten, Martinique and St Lucia.

Prices start from 2,099 British pounds per person for an inside cabin and include flights from the UK.

Arvia will be a 180,000-gross ton mega ship, powered by LNG, which will eliminate the ship’s sulphur emissions and significantly reduce her carbon emissions.

She is the eighth of a planned total of nine such ships in the Carnival Corporation fleet and will be the second launched for P&O Cruises.

Not much has been released about Arvia in terms of her interior design, amenities, experiences and facilities, but Iona carries 5,200 guests and 1,800 crew, and boasts a three-deck-high atrium with a grand staircase.

She also offers 17 restaurants, including 8 specialty restaurants, and 12 bars, an entertainment venue called The Skydome, featuring a retractable stage for shows, as well as a half-mile-long lanai deck with a covered promenade, with outdoor restaurants.
