Even Virgin Voyages’ lifeboat tenders have style, new Bimini video also released

Virgin Voyages has revealed the design of its lifeboat tenders for Scarlet Lady, its upcoming cruise ship, and they look far more chic and comfortable than most cruise lines’.

Virgin Voyages posted on Instagram showing the tenders touching water for the first time for testing, before being loaded onto a ship and transported to Genoa, where Scarlet Lady is under construction.

“Such a tender moment watching one of Scarlet’s minis out on the water for the first time,” the cruise line said.

The boat in the video is one of the ship’s tenders, which also doubles up as a lifeboat in an emergency, while as can be seen in the accompanying pictures, the pure lifeboats are more utilitarian in design.

The tenders will be used for taking Scarlet Lady’s 2,770 passengers ashore at cruise destinations without a suitable cruise port, such as at the Beach Club at Bimini, Virgin Voyages’ private cruise destination in the Bahamas.

Also this week, Virgin Voyages gave us the most in-depth look yet at the Beach Club at Bimini, which is due to open in April, 2020.

“Starting April 2020, Sailors will discover what beach club dreams are made of. You don’t have to worry about which itinerary you book because every voyage makes a stop at The Beach Club at Bimini,” Virgin Voyages said on Instagram.

The 4.5-acre Beach Club at Bimini will be a private beach resort overlooking the ocean with an expansive lagoon-style pool as the central anchor of the club. Its proximity to Miami will give the cruise line the ability to stay later and depart at night after a beach party and bonfire.

There’ll be six bars and restaurants, serving complimentary food from locally-inspired menus that serve up island favourites such as conch and mango salad, banana leaf-wrapped queen snapper, Bahamian rum cake and more.

The beach club will also have access to the island’s incredible biodiversity in marine life, boating, snorkelling and even historic shipwreck diving.

There will also be water sports offered, along with various beach activities such as volleyball.

And for passengers staying in the RockStar Suites, there will be an exclusive space at The Beach Club with a dedicated bar, complimentary food service, an outdoor terrace lounge, sun loungers and beach cabanas.
