The refurbishment is part of a massive Celebrity Revolution enhancement plan that will see a further six Celebrity Cruises ships refurbishment between now and 2023, at a cost of US $500-million.
“Celebrity Summit is one of the most popular ships in the Celebrity Cruises fleet and we’re excited to share the revolutionized design with the world,” said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO, Celebrity Cruises.
“Celebrity Summit is better than she’s ever been – with modernized spaces and exciting new experiences, and she’s the first of our ships to feature our partnerships with American Ballet Theatre and Chef Daniel Boulud,” she added.
The 31-day drydock at Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport saw everything from Celebrity Summit’s staterooms to her dining experiences and public rooms upscaled or redesigned.
Starting in her staterooms, they’ve been given a new design in partnership with HBA and Celebrity Edge cabin designer Kelly Hoppen. Celebrity’s eXhale bedding featuring luxurious Cashmere mattresses have been added, along with new finishes and fixtures in the ensuite bathrooms.

For suite guests, there’s a new Retreat Sundeck (also designed by Hoppen) with hot tubs, cabanas, loungers, artwork, and more, as well as a new Retreat Lounge.
This space was previously occupied by Michael’s Club, but now it will be an exclusive 24/7 lounge for suite guests designed by Hoppen, offering complimentary beverages, gourmet bites and concierge service.
Moving on to her public rooms, Celebrity Summit has a redesigned Oceanview Café that’s more open with a lot more seating and expanded food options from around the world.
The main dining room has also been upgraded with more tables and new artwork and fixtures.

Just about every part of the ship has been updated. Even her Wi-Fi will be better than before, thanks to the installation of Xcelerate Wi-Fi throughout the ship. And when it comes to shopping at sea, Shinola, John Hardy, and TAG Heuer all now have boutiques in the retail area.
Huge enhancements have been made to the spa, which now has a wellness-focused spa design for Canyon Ranch at Sea, transforming the treatment rooms, salon, fitness centre, and locker rooms.
The Persian Garden thermal suite, where therapeutic spaces and experiences, such as Turkish bath, infrared sauna, and salt therapy are available, has been enhanced and there’s a new, semi-private consultation area in the fitness centre for personal training and consultations.
