Oceania to end Dubai cruise season in 2020 with cruise to Rome aboard Nautica

Oceania Cruises luxury little cruise ship Nautica will end the 2019/2020 Dubai cruise season in May with a 20-night cruise from Dubai to Civitavecchia (Rome).

A sister ship to Oceania Cruises other small ships Regatta and Sirena, Nautica is just 30,227-gross tons and carries a maximum of 690 passengers.

Nautica cruises from Dubai annually, usually on the homeward or outward legs of a grand voyage. In 2019 she will cruise from Dubai twice, once in April on a voyage to Barcelona, and again in December to Cape Town in South Africa, where she will sail a roundtrip mini-season.

Nautica’s 2020 cruise from Dubai will depart on May 19th, 2020. While Oceania Cruises is usually known for its destination-rich itineraries and destination-immersion approach to cruising, this 20-night voyage is more for lovers of deep ocean cruising.

Nautica will call at six ports between Dubai and Rome, and will spend a full five nights and four days at sea on the run between Salalah in Oman and Safaga in Egypt.

After departing Safaga, Nautica will visit Aqaba in Jordan and then spend a day transiting the Suez Canal, before entering the Mediterranean and sailing for Haifa in Israel, where she will stay overnight.

Dubai and Haifa are the only two cities in the itinerary that include an overnight port call.

After Haifa, Nautica will call in Iraklion in Greece and Positan in Italy before continuing on for Civitavecchia (the gateway port for the Italian capital, Rome).

Despite her small size, Nautica is a great little ship, packed with amenities and facilities for passenger’s comfort and entertainment.

Nautica is to be thoroughly refurbished after her Dubai cruise in 2020

There are three specialty eateries in addition to the main dining room, a Canyon Ranch Spa, fitness centre, heated pool, three Jacuzzis, a show lounge, beautiful observation lounge, casino, library and six bars and cafes.

This May, 2020 departure from Dubai aboard Nautica will also be one of her last in her current design and layout. In June of the same year, the ship is scheduled to go into dry-dock for a massive refit and refurbishment project.

The OceaniaNext refub covers all the R-class ships in the fleet and will cost more than US $100-million.

All her interiors will be stripped back and reimagined. The earthy colour palette of reds and browns will be redone in a modern, chic grey and green.

The silvery grays and greens with sapphire and taupe accents take inspiration from sea and sky, according to Oceania.
