Pullmantur returning Horizon to Dubai for 2019/2020 cruise season

The Spanish cruise line Pullmantur has announced that its cruise ship Horizon will sail a second Dubai cruise season for the winter of 2019/2020, homeporting out of Dubai between December, 2019 and March, 2020.

Horizon will cruise roundtrip from Dubai within the Arabian Gulf, visiting Dubai, Khasab, Muscat, Khor Fakkan,  and Abu Dhabi on a series of 7-day itineraries, with the last night of the cruise spent overnight in port in Dubai.

Pullmantur will be one of eight cruise line’s homeporting in Dubai for the 2019/2020 cruise season, which traditionally runs between November and March each year.

However, Horizon will be one of the only cruise ships visiting the cruise port of Khor Fakkan (MSC Lirica will also call in Khor Fakkan on her Dubai to India roundtrip cruises).

Pullmantur threw itself whole-heartedly into the Middle East cruise market in 2018 when it announced that it would sail its first ever Arabian Gulf cruise season out of Dubai for the winter of 2018/19.

Pullmantur’s cruise itineraries out of Dubai with Horizon in 2019/2020 will be identical to those in 2018/2019.

The cruise line signed a codeshare agreement with Emirates for the transport of cruise passengers booking fly-cruise packages between Spain and the UAE, and hosted 100 travel agents in the country to better-equip them to sell cruises in the Arabian Gulf.

Pullmantur says it wants passengers to experience the diversity of the Arabian Gulf’s cruise ports.

“This represents a significant milestone for the Spanish market since it is the first time a cruise company offers Spanish passengers a product tailored entirely to them in this part of the world,” Richard J Vogel, CEO and president of Pullmantur Cruises said at the time.

“It is very important for us that travel agents –our main business partners and prescribers for our products– have extensive knowledge of our proposal, both on board and at the destinations,” he added.

The cruise itineraries scheduled for the coming cruise season are identical to those announced for the 2019/2020 cruise season, suggesting that the Spanish cruise market has greeted Pullmantur’s maiden Arabian Gulf cruise season enthusiastically.

“This cruise itinerary has been designed down to the very last detail, to ensure passengers are fascinated by this oasis of contrasts, with the reassurance of knowing they will enjoy a fully Spanish environment. It has all the ingredients to be a big success,” Vogel added.
