Norwegian Cruise Line has opened bookings for Norwegian Aura, the newest vessel in its fleet and the largest ship the company has built to date, ahead of the ship’s debut voyages scheduled for May 2027.
Norwegian Aura is due to enter service in Europe in late May 2027 before repositioning across the Atlantic to begin her first Caribbean season from Miami in June 2027.
Once in North America, Norwegian Aura will operate a programme of seven-night cruises, with itineraries including calls at either Harvest Caye in Belize or Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas.

At 169,000 gross tons, Norwegian Aura will accommodate 3,840 guests at double occupancy, making her approximately 10 percent larger than her immediate predecessors, Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna.
The ship is currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, with interior design work being carried out by a consortium of design firms including AD Associates, Piero Lissoni, Rockwell Group, SMC Design, and Studio Dado.
At the centre of the vessel’s public spaces is Ocean Heights, a multi-deck, open-air activity complex spanning decks 18 to 21.

The area incorporates a range of new and returning attractions, including five waterslides, an 82-foot ropes course, a rock-climbing wall, outdoor games areas, and a series of private cabanas overlooking the ship’s adults-only Vibe Beach Club.
“We are proud to introduce the newest, and largest, addition to our fleet, Norwegian Aura,” said Harry Sommer, President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. “Norwegian Aura represents the evolution of Norwegian Cruise Line and the celebration of bringing together families, friends, and travelers from around the world.”
“With brilliance and connection at her core, the ship was created to give all guests the freedom to vacation their very own way – offering the chance to exhale, connect, and effortlessly escape into the moment. We look forward to this next milestone and can’t wait for guests to experience all that Norwegian Aura has to offer,” he added.

Another defining feature of the new ship is Ocean Boulevard, the wraparound outdoor promenade on deck eight, which has been extended by 11 percent compared with earlier Prima-class ships.
The area includes new hot tubs, additional seating, an expanded Infinity Beach, and dedicated zones for children and teenagers, including Adventure Alley for younger guests and a Teen Hangout space.
Accommodation aboard Norwegian Aura will total 1,976 staterooms, including 159 suites within The Haven, the cruise line’s keycard-access luxury complex.
The Haven will feature its own sundeck with infinity pool, hot tubs, an outdoor sauna and cold room, a private bar and lounge, and a dedicated restaurant.
The ship will also carry a new hull artwork created by international mural artist Rosie Woods.
Norwegian Aura’s inaugural voyage will be a seven-night Mediterranean sailing from Trieste to Barcelona on May 21st, 2027, calling at Valletta, Salerno, and Rome. After a transatlantic crossing, she will begin her Miami-based Caribbean programme, before moving into a Western Caribbean deployment for the winter 2027/28 season.
